International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics 2024

Introduction

The International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics is a prestigious olympiad that brings together national teams from more than 50 countries. The highly competitive event allows students to showcase their talent and aptitude in STEM, specifically in astronomy and astrophysics.

Each national team consists of 5 team members. The team from Pakistan for IOAA 2024 will be selected by Mr. Abubakar Sial, which was also the case for IOAA 2023.

Format

The selection process for the national team from Pakistan will consist of two main rounds. All applicants must register for participation in order to be considered for selection. There will be no exceptions to this rule.

All registered applicants will participate in the first round of selection. Twenty (20) students from round 1 will be shortlisted. The shortlisted candidates will participate in a bootcamp to prepare for IOAA 2024.

Round 2 will culminate with the final test. At the end of the bootcamp, candidates will take a final exam and the top five (5) candidates will be selected as the team members for IOAA 2024.
