Elimination Rules
Elimination is a core part of the show, but it’s not the end of a player’s story. The process is a direct result of a team’s performance and a player’s personal popularity.
Triggering an Elimination
An elimination is triggered at the end of a scene or episode where a team has officially lost a challenge. An official loss occurs when a team fails to meet the challenge's difficulty and earns a collective negative Sentiment score. The Host will declare the team defeated, and a date for the Elimination Ceremony is set.
The Elimination Ceremony
The Host will gather all players for the ceremony. In a dramatic fashion, they will read out the current Audience Sentiment score for every player. The player with the lowest Audience Sentiment is declared eliminated. The Host should provide a brief narrative explanation for the elimination, tying it to the player's recent actions or failures.
Life After Elimination
Getting eliminated is not the end of a player's journey. Eliminated players should choose one of the following roles to remain engaged in the game. They may combine or change roles as the campaign progresses, but should always have a function.
The Ghost (Co-Host): You become a storytelling partner with the Host, helping to build scenes and manage the narrative behind the screen. You may not directly influence the game, but your ideas can inform the Host’s decisions. The Spectator (HPC Handler): You take control of one or more HPCs, treating them as your new character. This allows you to continue competing from a different perspective and influence the game from the rival team's side. The Underdog (Rejoin Candidate): You wait for a Rejoin Challenge. Your goal is to return to the game in a later episode, more determined than ever to win. Leveling Up
Character progression happens as a natural part of a player’s journey. After a major challenge or at the end of every episode, the Host will decide if the players on the winning team level up. They may also grant a level-up to a player on the losing team if that player performed an extraordinary feat of skill or growth.
