the position

the residency is a fast-growing network of co-living and co-working spaces for ambitious young founders. in one short year the residency has expanded from one humble san francisco hacker house, to a network of founder communities across the world with locations in san francisco, cambridge, new york city, london, dubai, berlin and bangalore. all in one short year.

the essence of the residency is it’s people. that’s why we carefully select each cohort through a rigorous application process. with the support and influence of a community of incredible minds, our residents go on to raise millions of dollars in capital funding, join ycombinator, and associate with some of the most remarkable technologists in the world. by expanding our reach, we believe that this way of co-living and co-working will revolutionize the world of education and undeniably accelerate the rate of innovation. that’s why we are now recruiting 3 marketing fellows to join our team and help share our story with the world.

we’re looking for people who: 1. have a past track record of high agency, demonstrated through passion projects, club participation, or relevant work experience 2. have a deep interest in marketing, design and community-building. 3. love to brainstorm ideas. 4. are nerdy, community-oriented, ambitious and loving. 5. can be located in the bay area between the months of february through april 2025 (flexible).

what you’ll be doing: • weekly: social media posting, attending weekly standup, demoing your work, meeting with leads and seeking guidance from marketing experts, stopping by the houses to hang out and get to know our founders. • monthly: completing a series of projects tailored to your interests, skillset and the real-life marketing needs of the residency.

what will we teach you: 1. how to do viral marketing 2. how to tell stories that draw viewers in 3. how to write cold emails 4. how to design your future career (general tips on choosing degree, majors, mentors, experiences)

the residency is on a mission to create a new version of the college experience that provides ambitious young builders with the connections, the space, and the mindset needed to positively impact the world.

the current college experience is expensive; it limits exploration; it weakens intrinsic motivation; it rarely teaches practical skills; ~25% of its students are depressed.

because universities, governments, and accreditation organizations need to coordinate to change the college experience, and because each of these institutions are bureaucratic themselves, it is hard to change the college experience from within any of them.

so we are creating our own, specifically for the most ambitious, smart, and considerate youth we can find.

at the residency, we provide housing, co-working space, coaching, mentorship, speaker events, dinners, and more. we help residents grow personally and professionally. we create an environment that fosters life long friendships. we push residents to the frontier of knowledge and innovation. we enable them to create an even more wonderful world for us all.

we envision residencies all around the world, inspiring and supporting not only the most ambitious, but every individual who wants to level up their lives, and the life of others 🫶
