Dashboard page is a base working page where you will perform most of the everyday actions.
I wanted to store all my tasks in the single place, but at the same time have a clear separation between work and personal stuff, so I added a work:
checkbox to quickly switch between work and personal tasks.
The today:
checkbox allow you to filter only tasks that you planned to do today (or they slipped from previous days).
clear focus
button allows to clear the current task that is marked with green in the dashboard and remove it from Focus page
Inbox is a special folder that holds all incoming input, it could contains both projects, tasks, someday/maybe ideas etc. Use this folder for accumulation of incoming information, but try to keep it empty by regularly review it and create appropriate projects and tasks.
Next tasks is a list of all tasks that could be done next (with respect of work and today checkboxes)
Stalled projects is a list of projects that are not complete, but have no uncompleted tasks. Such project should be reviewed ASAP and either closed as completed or next tasks should be created in such project.
Tasks completed today and Tasks completed yesterday just a list of completed tasks to help you analyse at the end of the day - what you able to do during day.
Task is a single actionable step (call to make, item to buy, web page to read etc).
Task always belongs to the project. There are some simple tasks that are basically a single step projects. To avoid creating a project each time for such tasks - I usually create a “one-step project” project and assign simple task to it.
Project is a goal that takes more than one step to complete (change the car tires etc).
Focus page shows task that you made current, but clicking "⏰" button on the task. There can be only one task in the focus. Also note that Todoistik will keep time spend on the current task in “duration” column in the lists of completed tasks (until you clear focus or make another task active).
