Pros:

The GoPro ecosystem is rich (a lot of available add-ons).

It’s rather cheap.*

It has a wide lens.

You can easily change the batteries at the back (no need to remove the skeleton case).*

You can add an external mic (although I don’t).

The sound from the internal mic is reasonably good (see

sound test⁠

Lowest resolution is 720p (which takes less space; although other models have even lower resolution available).

*Not available in some more recent GoPro model

I bought this with a “Sports Accessory Kit Bundle (40+ PCS)” for 79.95 USD on Ebay.

If I had more money, I might buy a GoPro Fusion to film spherical videos.
