About this template

Why did you decide to choose this use case?
I like mind maps :-)
I chose this use case because I realized that there is a significant gap in the market for tools that can generate structured, visual representations of complex ideas. Mind maps are an excellent way to organize thoughts and ideas, but creating them manually can be time-consuming and challenging. By leveraging AI, we can automate this process and make it accessible to everyone.

How will this template help with your workday?
How does it save you time?
This template saves time by automating the process of creating mind maps. Instead of spending hours manually organizing and structuring information, users can simply input their topic and desired structure, and the AI will generate a comprehensive mind map in markdown format. This can then be easily converted into a visual mind map using the Markdown viewer provided.
How does it make it easier to accomplish a task or a goal?
The template makes it easier to accomplish tasks or goals by providing a clear, visual representation of complex ideas or projects. This can help with planning, brainstorming, problem-solving, and decision-making processes. It also aids in understanding and remembering information, as visual data is often easier to process and recall than text-based data.
Does it make work more fun?
Yes, it does make work more fun! The process of creating a mind map can be a creative and engaging task. It's exciting to see a complex idea or project come to life in a visual format. Plus, the AI does the heavy lifting, so you can focus on the fun part: exploring and understanding your ideas.

How does this template work?
The template works by taking a user's input, which includes a topic and the desired structure of the mind map (i.e., the number of first and second-level entries). The AI then generates a markdown output based on these inputs, which can be used to create a visual mind map. The template also includes a history of all generated AI outputs and allows users to change the first or second-level count as needed in the table. Additionally, it provides a summary of the AI output for all topics in the form of a word cloud.
Since you can search in history and tables are a powerful tool in Coda AI, there are many advantages automatically.

How do you want others to use this template?
I envision others using this template as a tool for brainstorming, planning, and decision-making. It can be used in a variety of contexts, from business planning and project management to academic research and personal goal setting. I hope that users will find it a valuable tool for visualizing and understanding complex ideas.

Anything else you want us to know about this template?
This template is designed to be user-friendly and accessible to everyone, regardless of their technical skills or familiarity with mind maps. It's a versatile tool that can be adapted to suit a wide range of needs and applications. I'm excited to see how users will leverage this template to enhance their thinking and planning processes. Sometimes it is necessary for users to customize the appearance of the mind map using Markdown. A rudimentary understanding of Markdown is helpful for this.

What's next for the template?
As a further development I see the possibility to add longer contexts and more levels. Currently, the AI prompt seems to be limited here or does not provide the right output in some cases. The prompt could also be adapted to enrich the levels with emojis. I can also imagine to extend the prompt with more features that are selected by checkboxes or selection drop down. This would further specify the output of the AI. For example expert level of texts or length, style etc. Also, the current external website for mind map creation could be implemented natively with Coda SDK, since it is open source.

In general, the ability to create a mind map from Markdown is very interesting. I can also imagine an extension that converts documents, notes or other media into a Markdown structure and thus into a mind map using AI.
