Day 20 Hour 1-2: Review of the 20-day Program and Key Takeaways
As we convene for our final day together, let's take a moment to reflect on our journey throughout this 20-day program.
This course started with an introduction to the world of no-code development, where we familiarized ourselves with the tools and concepts that would serve as the foundation for our projects. Over the course of several days, we explored the functionalities of Airtable and Softr, two powerful platforms that are changing how we approach web development.
We began with Airtable, learning how to create, manage, and manipulate databases. We explored various field types, views, and linking records. We learned how to import and export data, use formulas, and even automate tasks. All of these skills equipped us to handle the back-end side of our web applications effectively.
Next, we transitioned into Softr, the platform that allowed us to design our web application's front end without writing a single line of code. We learned how to create and style different page elements, establish navigation, and integrate our Airtable database. Our journey through Softr's capabilities also led us to grasp fundamental web design principles that enhance user experience and engagement.
One of the highlights of our journey was undoubtedly the project phase. In forming teams and working together on a shared objective, we learned not just about building web applications but also about collaboration, problem-solving, and project management.
We faced challenges, from initial brainstorming to final testing, that required us to use our newly acquired skills and even stretch them. During these times, we learned that perseverance and a problem-solving mindset are as important as technical prowess.
But we didn't just learn new skills; we put them into action. We created something valuable: a web portal for Erasmus+ KA1 Schools and Training Agencies. You took an idea and turned it into a functional, user-friendly application. That is a significant achievement.
As we review the program and your accomplishments, remember that every challenge you encountered and every problem you solved was an opportunity for growth. These experiences have not only equipped you with technical skills but also with a mindset to embrace challenges with confidence and curiosity.
As we move into the rest of today's sessions, let's carry forward this spirit of learning and exploration, as we look at how you can continue to grow beyond this program. And remember, the end of this course is just the beginning of your journey in web development. Well done, everyone!
