Day 10-12: Advanced Functionality and Integrations

Day 11 Hours 3-4

Day 11 Hour 3-4: Advanced Automations

Diving deeper into automations: conditional actions, multiple actions, etc.

In the next segment of Day 11, we will delve deeper into the world of automations. Automations are key to efficient web applications; they can streamline repetitive tasks, reduce the possibility of human error, and improve overall operational efficiency.
We'll explore the concept of conditional actions, where an automation is executed based on specific conditions. For example, an email could be sent to a user only if they have not logged in for a certain period of time.
In addition, we'll look at automations involving multiple actions. This refers to situations where one trigger initiates a sequence of several actions. For example, if a user completes a form on your web application, this could trigger an automation that sends a confirmation email to the user, updates a record in Airtable, and sends a notification to a team member, all in one go.

Hands-on exercise: Setting up an advanced automation in Airtable

To help you understand these concepts better, we will set up an advanced automation in Airtable. This hands-on exercise will involve creating an automation with conditional actions and multiple actions. We'll work together step-by-step to set up the trigger, define the conditions, and specify the sequence of actions. This exercise will provide you with practical experience in creating complex automations, which will be beneficial when building sophisticated web applications.
