Day 10-12: Advanced Functionality and Integrations
Day 10 Hours 7-8
Day 10 Hour 7-8: Advanced Custom Scripts
Building complex scripts: using external libraries, making API calls, etc.
In the seventh hour, we will delve into more advanced aspects of scripting in Airtable. We'll discuss how to build complex scripts, including how to use external libraries and make API calls from within your scripts.
Using external libraries allows you to leverage existing JavaScript libraries to enhance the functionality of your scripts. You'll learn how to import these libraries into your scripts and use the functions they provide.
Making API calls from your scripts can allow you to interact with other software and services directly from Airtable. You'll learn the basics of how to make these API calls and how to handle the responses they return.
Hands-on exercise: Writing an advanced custom script in Airtable
For the hands-on exercise, you'll have the opportunity to write a more advanced custom script in Airtable. This script will be more complex than the one you wrote in the previous session, and you'll use some of the advanced scripting techniques we discussed in this session.
This exercise is designed to give you experience with writing more complex scripts in Airtable. It will help you understand how powerful scripting can be in enhancing the functionality of your Airtable bases. It's also a chance for you to practice problem-solving and creative thinking as you design and write your script.
