Final Project Assignment: Building a Web Portal for Erasmus+ KA1 Schools and Training Agencies
Objective:
Your task is to create a web portal that acts as a hub for accredited schools and training agencies involved in the Erasmus+ KA1 programme, as well as those interested in joining or planning within this programme. The portal should facilitate the proposal of project ideas and foster the search for international partners. Airtable will serve as the database for all accredited schools and new registrations, while Softr will be used for the portal's design and implementation.
Key functionalities of the portal should include:
Profile Creation for Schools and Training Agencies: Users should be able to create profiles where they can share public data about their organisation.
Project Idea Space: Users should be able to input their project ideas, including a brief summary, the target country or countries, and desired partners.
Matching System: The home page should display proposed projects and allow schools to contact potential partners through a form.
Assignment Details:
Step 1: Database Design with Softr
Create an Airtable base to store data about schools and training agencies, their project ideas, and other relevant information. This base should be carefully structured to facilitate the matching process and ensure easy access to information.
Step 2: Softr Design
Utilise Softr to design the web portal. The design should be user-friendly and intuitive, enabling easy navigation and data entry. Be sure to include areas for profile creation, project idea submission, and a system for matching and contacting potential partners.
Step 3: Connecting Airtable and Softr
Integrate your Airtable base with your Softr design. Users should be able to input data on the web portal (Softr) that will be stored in the database (Airtable). They should also be able to view and search for information in the Airtable base via the Softr interface.
Step 4: Testing and Refinement
Test the system thoroughly to ensure that all features work as expected. Make any necessary refinements to the design, user interface, and database structure.
Step 5: Documentation and Presentation
Prepare documentation for your project, detailing the design process, challenges faced, and how you overcame them. You will present your project to the class, showcasing the key features and explaining your design and implementation process.
Remember, the goal of this assignment is to provide a practical solution to a real-world problem using the skills and tools you've learned throughout this course. Good luck!
