Laura is a Public Service Commission (PSC) Scholar and an A-Level Graduate from Hwa Chong Institution (College). She scored AAAA/A for the GCE A Levels, inclusive of H2 China Studies in Chinese and H2 Mathematics. She is also a Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) Scholar and an awardee of the prestigious Singapore Police Force (SPF) Book Prize.

She was offered undergraduate admissions into Yale University, Princeton University, the Wharton School of Business (University of Pennsylvania), UC Berkeley, UCLA, Tsinghua University, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (NTU and Imperial College London).

Laura took the Integrated Programme (IP) route in Nanyang Girls' High School and secured a PSLE score of 275. She was the Top Bicultural Studies student (SCCCI Academic Award) and the Top in H2 Mathematics in Hwa Chong Institution (College). She was also conferred the Best Academic Performance (Science) Award. She was offered a Direct Admission into the Special Talent Programmes for High Ability Science and Mathematics Students (SMTP), alongside the Bicultural Studies Programme (BSP) Scholarship.
