Credits roll over when on an active subscription so Audible reminds users to use these prior to the billing period. They swapped the cancel CTA with “See best sellers” and showcasing personalized titles on the right. Amazon’s known to use dark patterns.

Idea:

If people expect their unused benefits to roll over, make sure to let them know what won’t be available to reduce future support costs.

The default CTA by Audible is to keep the membership. Credits roll over when on an active subscription so Audible reminds users to use these prior to the billing period yet again. There’s not much added on this screen that wasn’t existing earlier on.

Hidden plan (Audible Plus) that takes away the monthly credits. This is another sunk cost fallacy example. The “Most Popular” helps people make a choice. They offer pauses and annual discounted plans. While on a pause, people can’t use their account (so it’s an immediate pause).. They also make “Cancel Subscription” look like a disabled CTA which is likely a dark pattern.

Idea:

Show people that the cancel flow has a few steps.
That can be done by using progress bars while users are in the flow or by calling out the upcoming steps before they start it.
