Settings for Premiere

A few key settings ensure optimal performance when using Lucid Link. Remember to always save additional assets to Lucid and never your downloads folder or local disk. This will ensure all projects can be opened on any computer and all assets will link.

Project Locking

Project locking allows multiple users to open the same Premiere file but not overwrite each other work. Each the first person to open the project file gets edit access, following users get read only.
To enable project locking open Premiere and navigate to Settings → Collaboration
Select “Enable Project Locking” and type in your name. Restart Premiere and you’re all set!

If you are in a ready only project you’ll see the red lock icon on the project window

If the first user that opened the project closes it, by pressing the lock you will enable write mode and have control over the project.

Waveform generation

By default premiere will try to generate the waveforms for all clips in a project. This can be taxing on slower internet connections. To disable go to Systems → Audio → Deselect: Generate waveforms automatically

Scratch Disks

You can set up your Premiere projects to be autosaved to Lucid, however we recommend that any Rendered files are directed to your local machine. This will avoid the upload of Audio/Video preview files and it won’t slow down your internet connection.
Go to File → Project Settings → Scratch Disks and change the path to your desired location.
