About this Doc

One of the best ways companies can ensure high talent density is effectively on-boarding employees. HR organizations can ensure this goes smoothly by doing regular check-ins with managers on new hire performance, and prioritizing efforts that make the new hire feel included in the team.
In cases where the employee is doing great, it’s a reminder to provide kudos. In cases where the employee may be struggling, it forces the discussion around what types of coaching can help course correct, or in some cases, reminds the organization to consider putting the employee on a performance improvement plan.

Running an Inclusive On-boarding Process

While evaluating performance, discuss the Inclusion Status of the new hire - are they feeling incorporated into the team? If not, what can be done to help support them? Use this timeline to guide your focus:
Week Before Start - double check onboarding plan is ready
Day 1 - send welcome message
Day 30 - check for performance and positive & welcome environment
Day 60 - check for performance and respect & inclusivity
Day 90 - check for performance and enablement & empowerment
