Tips for a Great Cover Letter

Tailor it for the job - it’s easy to tell when a cover letter is generic, or when the writer took the time to really convey their passion for this particular job and why they are a strong match.
Let your personality and excitement shine through - though you still have to work to keep it professional, try to get the person reading your letter excited about meeting you. Prioritize natural, positive language versus overly formal lines.
Proofread, proofread, proofread - Typos, grammatical errors, and poor formatting are very detrimental as they show a lack of attention to detail. It’s a good idea to have a friend review your letter, too.
Optimize length - too short, you’ll struggle to convey something unique and memorable about you. Too long, you’ll lose the interest of hiring managers and come off as verbose. 3-4 short to medium length paragraphs is a good target.
