Booking Things on Virgin App/Website

⚠️ Wait for the Atlantis email with Virgin registration info before buying or booking anything on the Virgin app/website.

This email goes out about 2-3 weeks before the cruise.
This email will usually also have more information on the things you can start booking before the cruise, such as reservations for dinner and shows.

Until you get this email from Atlantis:

🚫 Ignore the Virgin upsell emails

You may already be receiving (lots of) emails from Virgin pushing to buy this and reserve that. Please ignore them until you get the Atlantis email.

🚫 Don’t buy or book anything on the Virgin app/website

Your cruise will probably automatically show up in the Virgin Voyages app or website, but do not start buying or booking anything. No bar tabs, no shore excursions, no spa treatments, nothing!

🚫 Don’t worry, nothing is sold out yet

The Virgin app/website may show that things are sold out - don’t worry, this isn’t the case before you get the Atlantis email.

Why do I have to wait?

When Atlantis charters a ship, some things aren’t finalized until about 2-3 weeks before the cruise. On a regular (non-charter) sailing, the ship operates “normally” and the cruise line usually allows various things to be booked or bought several weeks or months in advance.

Why does Virgin keep emailing me if I’m not support to buy or booking anything yet?

Virgin’s IT systems were only designed for normal, non-chartered sailings. There’s not an “charter” mode that their whole system can easily be switched to that would disable all the upselling emails that don’t apply to an Atlantis charter.

Why am I getting payment due warnings from Virgin?

This usually happens if you tried to buy something too early before you got the Atlantis email mentioned above. Empty your cart in the Virgin app/website and cancel any purchases you’ve made, and the warnings should go away.

Why did the stuff I bought/booked on the Virgin app/website get cancelled?

If you bought or booked things before you got the Atlantis email mentioned above, most likely those things will get cancelled in the weeks leading up to the cruise.
