Favorites Quiz

Teachers should copy and paste quiz questions into the desired format to administer to your students.

BEGINNER: This lesson is best for students with no GoodMaps experience.

Objectives

After this lesson, students will be able to:

Mark destinations in the building as Favorites

Find and navigate to a location that is marked as a Favorite

Materials

iPhone or Android phone with GoodMaps downloaded from the App Store or the Google Play Store. This may be the student’s personal device, the teacher’s device, or a school-issued device.

Locations

Anywhere inside the GoodMaps mapped building at your school

Lesson Introduction

To prepare for this lesson, discuss the following with students:

Where to find the Favorites button in the GoodMaps app (if they don’t know already)

Why they would want to add a destination to their Favorites

Main Activity: Practice Favorites

Ask students to make a list of destinations they frequently travel to in the building. For example, they could list classrooms, the gymnasium, specific restrooms, etc.

Next, ask them to go through the GoodMaps building Directory and add each of those destinations to favorites. When they are finished, ask them to choose and route to one of those destinations from the Favorites list on the main screen.

Assessment, Refection & Self Evaluation

Ask students to share any challenges or frustrations they experienced while using the app.

Ask students to consider creative ways to use the Favorites feature in the future. Then, ask students to complete

the quiz associated with this lesson.⁠
