Objectives
After this lesson, students will be able to:
Use the GoodMaps app to travel indoor routes at school
Use O&M skills while routing to identify and successfully overcome obstacles
Materials
iPhone or Android phone with GoodMaps downloaded from the App Store or the Google Play Store. This may be the student’s personal device, the teacher’s device, or a school-issued device.
Teacher-created list of complex routes around the school. To create this list, choose 5-10 starting points and destinations in your school. Either choose complex routes that include obstacles that require students to use traditional O&M skills to maneuver around. OR along each route, place an obstacle students will have to identify and maneuver around.
Download the attached template, enter routes, and provide students with the list.
