YouVersion Jenny

Jenny wishes she was better at sharing the Gospel

Jenny, an American Christian Background Believer, is discouraged.
She has gotten into quite a few spiritual conversations with her neighbor, but she doesn’t quite know how to share with her effectively. Her neighbor would never step foot into a church... despite Jenny inviting her Sunday after Sunday.
During her daily devotional time, she opens up YouVersion and wonders if there is anything about learning more about sharing.
She stumbles upon Waha’s Disciple Making plan on Waha.

Jenny realizes Jesus called all believers to make disciples, not just share the Gospel.

Through doing the Waha Disciple Making Challenge, she is convicted to be a doer of the Word and not just a hearer. The challenge gives Jenny some practical handrails, and urges her to do the Disciple Making Course with her friends, family, or small group. The challenge helps her realize she already has a group she could do the Disciple Making Course with - her church small group. On the second week of the Disciple Making Course, the app instructs everyone to download Waha and do a Discovery Bible Study together.

The group does a DBS.

Jenny wants other people in her group to feel empowered, so she has Sarah facilitate the Discovery Bible Study.
Other people in the room also download Waha to follow along.
The Group Commits to continue meeting, doing the 7 Practices of a Disciple that Multiplies DBSs

On week 8 of the course, Jenny finds a person of peace, Samantha, that is interested in doing a Discovery Bible Study

At this point, Jenny has learned (via the course) that she should start with the Creation lesson when she finds a seeker
minus

We need to reinforce this idea! How can we guide pre-existing believers to start Discovery Groups with the lost and to do the Creation lesson with them?

Jenny picks the Creation lesson from the library screen. At this point, the app asks if this is her church small group doing the lesson, a new group, or if she’d like to do this later

We need to REALLY think about the copy here for options. My thought: Which group is meeting?

You can track your group’s progress regardless of who is facilitating today’s lesson by using Waha Groups!

[Group 1 Name] [Create New Group] Confirm Skip for now (this is a one-time meeting)

minus

Is it clear to Jenny whether she should create a group with her seeker or just do a one-time meeting? She may feel uncomfortable asking Samantha to join her Waha group when she is still trying to see if Samantha is actually a person of peace. I suppose it isn’t harmful to ask this question, but we are definitely making our users have to think

Meetings with the seeker Samantha are going well

Jenny starts encouraging Samantha to start a group of her own with her family, without Jenny present. Samantha, at this point, has already downloaded Waha and has facilitated a few lessons with Jenny.
Samantha invites her husband and brother-in-law to start doing lessons as well.

minus

Is it clear to Samantha that she should start with Creation with this new group? Jenny will hopefully be coaching Samantha to do that.
