Mission & Vision Unveiled

Revolutionizing Learning: Collaborative Innovation

Our Vision

The Learning Triangulum is a groundbreaking consortium uniting faculty from the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt), Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), and UPMC. Together, we are embarking on an ambitious journey to decipher the intricate processes of "learning" across both biological intelligence and artificial intelligence.
Fueled by the prestigious Pitt Momentum Funds and additional backing from numerous entities within Pitt and CMU, The Learning Triangulum stands at the forefront of interdisciplinary discovery, poised to redefine our understanding of learning systems and mechanisms.

What We Do

Our mission is to foster groundbreaking dialogue and collaboration across the fields of neuroscience, immunology, and artificial intelligence. Through a series of strategic initiatives, we aim to:
Publish a Joint Perspective: Develop a pioneering Pitt-CMU publication on learning systems, slated for a leading scientific journal.
Secure Significant Grants: Target a major NSF Convergence Grant to fund our vision Learn More.
Engage the Community: Host enriching summer workshops and a fall symposium, inviting thought leaders to share their insights.
Fund Pilot Research: Propel innovative pilot projects under the Pittsburgh Learning Triangulum banner.
Pursue Ambitious Funding: Craft compelling proposals for the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub, ARPA-H funding, Wellcome Leap Funding, the Allen Institute, and beyond.

Why The Learning Triangulum?

Interdisciplinary Approach: By uniting diverse fields, we unlock new perspectives and breakthroughs in understanding learning.
Cutting-Edge Research: Our work is at the intersection of biology and technology, pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
Community and Collaboration: Join a network of leading minds dedicated to making significant scientific advances.
