we try to have an executable of a demo project on two different systems.
we try to connect through internet with two button we have on starting the demo, join and host.
now here you should do keep in mind some factors regarding multiplayer in past, present and future (estimate) works at gaddr:
the most important thing is that "EPIC ONLINE SERVICE" does NOT provide you a dedicated server or listening server for multiplayer, you need to handle networking of your project to tailor it to your needs. EOS provides you with stuff such as authentication, anti cheat, lobby, session, achievement, etc. but not a server.
work on the same tutorial () of EOS for 5.2. It might work it might not work we need to investigate.
our earlier project did not have a proper windows/linux or android port, we managed to run two instances of the demo project inside unreal editor on a same machine. so the actual online networking to work is in question.
the tutorial is based on a course of networking () with roughly 65 hours of content. how much of this is going to be relevant and working with 5.2, we do not know. implementing networking in a video game project is a complex and big task that needs more specialty, resources and time. with all that being said, we will try our best to make it happen in two days.
