We think it’s important for the Safety and EJ elements to include policies and strategies to advance climate resilience and adaptation, and for these two elements to mirror one another on these issues. Do you already have plans for achieving that?
The East Oakland Neighborhood Initiative Community Plan includes a section entitled “Healthy Surroundings.” Within this section are several priorities focused on urban greening to achieve improvements in surface water quality, reductions in urban heat, and enhancing access to green spaces for recreation and aesthetics. How can the Safety & EJ elements help to implement these solutions?
