For those who made the Kickoff, thanks for kickin’ it and squadin’ up with your Squad! If you missed the Kickoff, it’s ok - connect with me if you need help hooking up with your Squad!
Don’t forget to complete the check-in. It only takes 5 minutes, and you get your PQ score!!
🚨 Our challenge this week is to ‘SAY YES’ more (with your Squads and) in life.
A child in your life asks you to play, say yes! (play is easy for kids!)
A friend is looking for help, say yes! (it’s harder for adults, so try harder!)
A freestyle+ Squad Member plays a game “wrong”, say yes! (celebrate mistakes!)
Be mindful of the opportunities to say 'yes'. Also, your inbox has a reminder of all of the actions you can take this week to achieve 20 minutes of play!
Give this post a “thumbs up”👍 if you accept the challenge to say YES more.

Did you miss it? Don’t worry! We’ve got your back. Let’s help those who missed out by dropping in chat one thing you remember from yesterday’s kickoff. I’ll start us off...

SQUADs! Everyone has been placed in a small group called a SQUAD. [insert one squad name and anecdote from kickoff - ie The OVER ACHIEVERs went on some epic vacations this summer. Ask them about it!”] Haven’t found your SQUAD yet? Let us know, and we’ll connect you. 🙋‍♀️ PLACEHOLDER: ask people to take screenshot of their Squad Connect and Share

How are you doing with the challenge to say “yes” more? Speaking of YES... it’s time for the Game of the Week!
ok
Describe in 5 - take turns creating an object
Here in Zoom Chat, the first player names ANY object. In the thread of that message, the next player replies with a descriptive detail of that same object and everyone else continue until there are five descriptive elements!
For example: House
1. Two-story House 2. Made of Brick 3. Covered in Ivy 4. Dust-covered Windows 5. A cat is on the roof
Go ahead now, how many of these can we make?!

Is it harder to “say yes” than you thought? That’s ok. Our brains aren't always wired for it but that's why improv and play is so great - it helps us to be more open, and in effect, find our flow.
Check out what Dr. Charles Limb, our neuroscientist advisor, has to say and react with the 🧠 emoji when you’ve finished watching...

Did anyone make a mistake today or this past weekend? Did you break something, show up late to dinner, forget to do something...? In what way has that mistake made you a better person?
Feel free to share below with the group:

ok
Missed the ball?? Maybe it’s a new way to play basketball!
Missed a meeting? Maybe it’s an opportunity to catch-up with a colleague.
Making mistakes happens. Cut yourself some slack when they do and be open to unexpected possibilities. Quick - Imagine you’ve missed your train and have to wait 15 minutes for the next one. What would you do with this newly found time?
ok
(IN A NEW MESSAGE) I would look for a new audio book! (cohort companion feel free to drop your own instead)

We made it to the end of the week! And even when we stumbled, we stumbled forward! Thanks for bringing your all (or however much you could bring this week) and giving yourself permission to be imperfect.
Let’s finish our week by giving thanks. What did you take away from our time together? Sound off in chat - Let the group know one thing you’re grateful for... and afterwards, add a hashtag bloop! #bloop

For those that could, thanks for joining the Cohort Connect Midpoint Check-In!
We heard that some of you are out so we wanted to say get better soon! We encourage you all to take care of yourselves and take care of each other.
“The Whole is Greater Than the Sum of its Parts!”
This week, instead of trying to do everything at once, try to let go of a little bit of control and focus on taking things one simple step at a time 👣
CHALLENGE: With your squads, take a look at the scavenger hunt and see where each other’s strengths lie and how SIMPLY can you contribute?!
slack

Nate’s Pass:
Working together as a team can make life much easier and help us to achieve greater heights with with less effort. In improv, collaboration is key. We work together to build something bigger than ourselves with one line, one joke, one step at a time. Each person adds a little something and we all build on each other's ideas. Last week, we showed each other (and ourselves!) that we can handle unexpected situations. This week, instead of trying to do everything at once, try to let go of a little bit of control and focus on taking things one step at a time [steps emoji]

Whose improv is it anyway??!!
Improvising isn’t just for performing on a stage or being silly with no script - studies show that improvising even in your everyday life has all kinds of benefits. However, overcoming the sometimes foolish feeling you may have while improvising can be difficult.
(link here →) from our advisor Dr. Charles Limb on overcoming that silly feeling.

You made it through this week! Let's end it by taking a moment to think of the things that AREN’T WRONG.
When we think of things that AREN’T WRONG, it’s easier to feel the things that are RIGHT.
For instance: Today, I don’t have a toothache.
Below, let everyone know some things that are NOT WRONG!

Approach each interaction today with an open mind and a sense of curiosity. By actively seeking out patterns and common ground, you can cultivate deeper connections and gain a better understanding of others and yourself!
Try the question game! When interacting with someone today, see if you can ask three questions that deepen the conversation. Patterns appear when you focus on just listening!
