What is Mentimeter for?

and other questions
Mentimeter is a response system wrapped in a presentation system. The idea is that instead of passively recieving info, your students and colleagues can interact to questions you pose. You will gain data and Mentimeter presents the responses into a spreadsheet which can be downloaded as a spreadsheet.
Prior to using this software we used to have to provide handsets to students who responded to questions and then collect in the handsets at the end of the session. The connections were not that reliable, the handsets were expensive and they took up time maintaining and distributing them. Having this software has made it more accessible and usable.

Who sees the data from it?

The data generated from your presentations is only available to you unless you share it with someone else. The instant feedback that is returned in answer to the questions that have been set will be seen by everyone who responded and will be how you initiate the conversation with the students in the session. This access can be adjusted so that it is not available if required. For example, you may want to review the responses and then have a discussion in the next session, due to time constraints or the nature of the questions.

What kinds of things can it do?
