ReconAfrica, a Canadian-registered junior oil and gas company, has started petroleum exploration in northeastern Namibia in the Kavango Basin, a large unexplored oil formation spanning Namibia and Botswana. ReconAfrica wants to open this brand-new basin up to make loads of $$$$$$!

We are in a climate emergency and the risks to the water and wealth of biodiversity in the area and downstream in the irreplaceable Okavango Delta are completely unacceptable!

Did they forget we are in a climate emergency?

Their license areas are home to many threatened species, including the critically endangered black rhinoceros and the migratory routes for the endangered African savanna elephants.

Their license areas also lie in the Okavango River Basin and their big plans to drill for oil will risk the precious Okavango Delta downstream!

Did they forget that we are in a biodiversity crisis?

Did they think that we would just give up our future and our planet’s beautiful biodiversity for them to make some money?
