What is Neurodiversity?

Neurodiversity.png
Neurodiversity is the believe that all neurotypes (types of brains should be valued). People who support neurodiversity believe that there is mainly one type of brain which they called neurotypical or NT for short and other types are called neurodiverse or ND. People can be considered ND if they are Autistic, have/are AD(H)D, a personality disorder etc.
People who support neurodiversity support the Social Model of Disability. They believe that NDs aren’t broken. They don’t need to be fixed, changed or cured. Attempts to make ND people appear more NT, such as ABA are unethical and abusive.
The symbol of neurodiversity is the infinity symbol. It represents the spectrum of neurotypes and neurodiversity.
So you now know that neurodiverse people have a different type of brain but what does it mean to have a different type of brain.
