Non-Violent Communication

What is Non-Violent Communication (NVC)?
NVC is a communication concept develpoed by Marshall B. Rosenberg. It aims to eliminate “violent” ー hurtful, harming ー communication towards others and ourselves. This includes behaviors such as bullying, discriminating, judging others, bias, blaming, finger pointing etc.
NVC has three main goals:
Increase your ability to live with choice, meaning, and conncetion.
Connect empathically with self and other to have more satisfying relationships.
Sharing of resources so everyone is able to benefit.

4 aspets NVC integrates
Consciousness
A set of principles that support living a life of compassion, collaboration, and authenticity.
Language
Understanding how words contribute to connection or distance
Communication
Knowing how to ask for what you want, how to hear others even in disagreement, and how to move foward to solutions that work for all.
Means of influence
Sharing “power with others” rather than using “power over others”.
