Background info

On August 22, 2016, Macarena Valdés, a 32-year-old environmental activist, was found dead in her home for an alleged suicide in the Mapuche Newen community of Tranguil in the commune of Panguipulli.
This activist led the fight for the recovery and defense of the Mapuche lands that were being affected by the installation of a hydroelectric plant on the Tranguil river in southern Chile. The conflict against the company and the five installations of hydroelectric plants that would be carried out in the area during 2016, resulted in innumerable harassments by members of the companies towards the members and activists of the network for the defense of the waters of the Panguipulli commune.
Relatives, friends and social activists affirm that the activist's death is part of a corporate murder carried out by the Global RP hydroelectric plant itself, which has remained unpunished through false expert opinions and judicial obstacles by the prosecutors. In addition, recently, new expert opinions requested by the family have discovered that the cause of death was not suicide ... If so, who killed Macarena Valdés?
