📑 Interview Quick Ref

Right before I head into interviews, these are the notes I like to review as a last-minute reminder of things to keep in mind. This is for product manager roles! -@evelynshares
Don’t forget to:
Fully understand the problem: ask questions, clarify the scope of the problem
Regularly check in with the interviewer: “gonna go with <x decision>, what do you think?”
Stay positive and calm, no need to jump into answers, feel free to ask for time to think/write/visualize
Frameworks to keep in mind (not to strictly walk through!):
Product Design:
CIRCLES: Comprehend the situation; identify the customer; report the customer's needs; cut, through prioritization; list solutions; evaluate tradeoffs, and summarize your recommendation.
Product Analysis (for metrics!):
AARRR: Acquisition, Activation, Retention, Referral, Revenue
System Design:
PEDALS: Process Requirements, Estimate, Design the Service, Articulate the Data Model, List the Architectural Components, Scale
Have these answers ready:
<insert your intro here!> Sum yourself up in under 2 minutes. I like to have this prepared to make sure I highlight all the best parts of me concisely. I personally include a quick summary of current role and impact, a recent achievement I’m proud of, what has led me to the role I’m applying to, and a hobby/passion.
My 3 favorite tangible products, and at least one thing I’d improve for each
<insert #1 here>
<insert #2 here>
<insert #3 here>
My 3 favorite software products are: <insert them here>
<insert #1 here>
<insert #2 here>
<insert #3 here>
<Insert most challenging experience>
