Dad's Time Tracker

For fathers and any father figures, consider auditing your time spent by tracking your activities each day to take control of your #dadlife.
Dads are more involved in child care and do more of the household work than in years past. Of course, this increase in time spent means that there's a balancing act with other responsibilities and day-to-day activities.
For fathers and any father figures, consider auditing your time spent by tracking your activities each day to take control of your #dadlife. Once you know what you’re doing each day, you can reflect on your dad time and determine if you’re spending your time on the tasks and activities you want and need to be doing. This time audit can also help you decide to make any adjustments.

Here’s how to do a time audit:

Once you decide on the categories to track, choose a typical week to begin tracking your time (e.g. you're not on vacation or out of town for a work conference).
Start and stop the clock throughout the day for each category of activity you spend time on.
Once you have enough data (start with a week), reflect on your time spent. Which tasks and activities took up the most time? The least? Were there any surprises where activities took more or less time than you intended? Where would you like to make improvements?
Continue to log your time and regularly reflect to make adjustments, as needed. Bonus: Conduct this audit with your partner to have a clear picture of household and parenting tasks and time spent.
