Defining the Problem

In the field of music education, online platforms are a relatively recent development that can play a vital role in eLearning, through the application of new technologies associated with remote learning and online education.
This sort of learning connects teachers and students via an online environment mediated by various smart devices such as smartphones, tablets and computers. Many schools and universities have broadened their education system via online platforms to connect large numbers of students and professionals, adopting exciting technologies that lead to enhanced learning. Furthermore the adoption of smart platforms for music education has already attracted a large customer base.
PartPlay is able to provide a new set of tools for this online environment, to address the issues below:

Music Industry:

Playing, practicing and learning with other musicians can be difficult because of a lack of rehearsal space, high travel costs, time spent traveling, social distancing issues, and latency problems when playing online.
PartPlay specifically addresses all of these issues by providing a learning and practice platform that allows a user to interact with the other instruments in a given piece without having to leave home.

Education Industry:

After the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, with closures of institutions and wider adoption of online education, the demand for Ed-tech products increased. This demand is still continuing as the landscape of learning generally has been irrevocably altered.
PartPlay provides a toolset which is useful not only for individual learners but also for group learning both online and in person.
