What locations will you be volunteering at and what will you do?

Support the work of school staff in the education and free time activities
You may join Ukraine lessons (if you speak Ukrainian) and English lessons (if you don’t speak Ukrainian) in the mornings and help the teacher in the education, by bring in a lot of energy with non-formal education activities (games, play)
In the afternoon you can deliver sport, arts and various workshop for the children based on your hobbies and passion or sharing your culture (songs, dances, etc)
Help to boost motivation of children and many lost their dreams, share your studies and lives, culture and give them a new perspectives
Support the re-organisation of the library, sort the books by language and subject, make a new catalogue
The activities will take place from 9:00 till 17:00, maybe there will be different shift (e.g. if you join a morning lesson, you can finish sooner, if you start around lunch time you will close the school). We will discuss on the onboarding program the schedule and daily activities.

How to prepare?

Before the arrival we ask participants to complete a self-study course () and send the completion certificate of it by the 17th of May. First you have to register on (enough to give the mandatory information) and after that you can open the course. When you finish you can print a certificate in PDF format, please send this to us by email.
It’s advised to learn more about Games with a psycho-social aim, please check this or , or even to check other courses and guidance about how to work with refugees.

Join a preparation call to meet fellow volunteers and any questions you may have before the travel. It will be on the 27th of May at 5-6 pm in CET (Budapest time) on google meets. Video call link:
On the first Sunday (8th of June) a one day orientation training (9:00 - 17:00) will be provided by Egyesek staff members to discuss the schedule, rules and prepare for the service in the . This will be followed by mentoring sessions to support the learning and professional development of you. In the facilities the school staff will provide further support if required.

What else will happen?

There will be safe sharing spaces and reflection groups during the program to support your emotional well-being and learning
we will suggest opportunities for the free time and help in anything you need!
