Lead Side Dominant

Here is the process for learning the Lead Side Feels. The order is important. Inherent in Rotary Swing is the notion that you practice one concept 3,000-5,000 times to anchor into your body as a habit. While this may be true. Who among us wants to stop golfing for months and months while we rework things? I have created an order that should facilitate incorporating whatever element you are working on into your swing without waiting until the end for results.

Start with a proper

Mastery is possible in a short time and should instantly impact your swing.

Backswing

Save only the Setup, this has contributed to consistency more than any other element of my swing.
Pull right shoulder behind head with your right lat - keep head stationary
Right hip is stagnant - it should never sway - you should feel tension building as it slightly turns back - increase pressure on trail foot to 80%
- if you were wearing a neck tie it should be just inside right knee.
Left shoulder should go down
Maintain right knee flex - it may straighten a bit but not lock

Transition

Learn to use your big muscles in the swing.
Keep chest away from target as you
Shift and sit into left leg - sit or squat to square - hips are parallel to target - weight is 50-50 on feet
Shoulders are moved by hips
Left leg will move independently of right leg - just like throwing a ball
Left knee should move over left ankle - increase space
Right foot is twisting and creating counter force - heel is moving toward left leg
Maintain tush line - clam shell drill

Downswing

Big muscle swing thoughts are key to me making a controlled effortless swing.
- into left side neutral joint alignment
Left leg straightens as if you are standing up
Hips 30-45 degrees open - left hip moves up and back - right glut stays back - keep tush line
Shoulders are square to target - parallel to target line
Don’t move shoulders, hips move them - left shoulder should stay below right shoulder
5-circle-c

This is where the magic happens.
Learn to swing the arms incrementally. From club parallel to arm parallel to full swing.
Learn the feel of the swing
6-circle-c

My first feeling of compressing the ball.
Big body swing - small arm swing
Extend arm
Squat to square - arm should be parallel
Post up - hand should be over right leg
Hand is under the shoulder
7-circle-c

Squaring the club face effortlessly.
Without a ball:
Take club upside down
Squat to square - +90 degree between shaft and arm
Post up - club shaft just above parallel to ground
Arm and club is moving at this point
Chest stays square
Body stops moving - the club will move you into a follow through
Shaft should be pointing down the target line
Let club release
With a ball:
Left arm only - start with foam balls first so that you don’t lose
Go to top - add right hand
Right arm is up there helping support the club
Let right hand come off
Keep right hand on longer and longer - keep right hand loose
