Create a case

The referral process is broken down into three stages each with several steps to try to help practitioners think through whether a referral for an ASD assessment is required.
A case can be created by any user but users who have not been ‘approved’ will need their organisation admin to approve their case creation before it can proceed.
The first stage is about 'Identifying a Need' and captures the current situation, any flags to consider and the practitioners who might have observed any behaviour concerns under given headings.
The case initiator must request consent for data sharing. This step will ensure that the parent carer and/or the child themselves understand the process, the Neurodevelopmental Pathway and that their data will be shared with practitioners as appropriate in helping the child.
If the case initiator is a then the GP will complete the parent carer’s details in order to trigger the consent request automatically.
If the case is initiated as a or , the parent carer’s details must be completed via the Request Consent form.
After consent has been given the initiator can continue with the process.
