💡 Guide & FAQ — Designor Profit Suite

Troubleshoot issues, customize your dashboard, and get the most out of your Designor – Profit Suite.

⚙️ Common Fixes

🧾 Totals or Profit Not Updating

✅ Make sure your Date column is set to Date format (not text).
✅ Confirm Amount columns are numeric and have no blank values.
✅ Click your Refresh Dashboard or Full Sync button to recalculate all summaries.
✅ If you use an Archive system, ensure the current month data exists in both tables.
💡 Tip: If totals still don’t match, check that both Income and Expenses tables include the same time range (e.g., “This Month”).

📉 Charts or Graphs Look Incorrect

Make sure category names match exactly between Income and Expenses (Coda is case-sensitive).
Remove duplicate or blank category labels.
Check for filters on charts — some views default to “This Month” only.
If charts still appear off, re-run Full Sync to refresh grouped results.

📅 Can’t Find Old Data

Older entries are automatically moved to the 📦 Archive Data page after refresh.
Open Archive Data to review all previous months’ income, expenses, and insights.
To bring archived data back into your live dashboard:
Copy the row(s) from the archive table
Paste or move them into the current Income/Expenses tables
💡 Archived Insights will always show your total historical performance and best month.

🎨 Customization

🎨 Change Colours or Theme

You can recolor any chart, card, or button to match your branding.
Right-click a chart, stat card, or button → Format → Colour
Default palette:
💰 Income: Blue #007AFF
💸 Expenses: Red #C94C4C
📈 Profit: Green #27AE60
💡 Tip: Keep these colours consistent across your dashboard, Profit Summary, and Archive pages for a professional brand aesthetic.

🏷️ Rename or Add Categories

In either table (Income or Expenses), click Category dropdown → Edit Options
Add new options like Client Work, Software Tools, or Investments
Use identical names in both tables for accurate category matching and chart analysis

🧩 Modify Layout

Drag or duplicate any dashboard section to reorganize your layout.
Use /divider or /heading 3 to create collapsible sections.
Adjust row height to Compact for a tighter table view.
Customize text colour and emoji icons to match your brand personality.

🧮 Maintenance & Monthly Reset

Your dashboard handles archiving automatically — but if you prefer a manual reset routine:
Review totals in Profit Summary
Screenshot or export your key results
Click Rebuild Monthly Data to reset current tables
Update your Monthly Goal for the next cycle
💡 Pro Tip: Use the Archive Data page as your long-term tracker — it stores every month’s totals and best-month insights automatically.

📘 Using the Template

🗂️ Duplicate for Personal Use

Click the doc title → Copy Doc → choose “Private” or “Shared.” Your copy is independent — changes won’t affect the master template.

🧠 Learn the Basics

If you’re new to Coda:
Use “/” to insert new elements like tables, buttons, or callouts
Hover over table headers for filtering, grouping, and sorting
Use Formula Help (bottom-right of the editor) for quick syntax hints

💼 Advanced Tips

💾 Back up your data occasionally as a CSV (File → Download → CSV).
🔢 Create your own KPIs, e.g. Profit Margin = Profit ÷ Income.
📆 Add a This Month filter or control dropdown for dynamic reporting.
🧱 Explore Coda Packs (e.g., Google Sheets, Stripe, or Gmail) for future integrations.
⚙️ Try automating monthly reports with buttons that move or snapshot data into Archive automatically.
