About the role
In your role as Tech Lead, you will drive our efforts to improve our engineering process, output quality, tech stack, and team. You will also lead one or more client projects.
On client projects, you'll wear multiple hats: analytics engineer and team lead / project manager. You'll use a combination of Python and SQL to transform data tables into analytical models that data analysts and data scientists can use in their day-to-day work and lead the team. You’ll work with the internal BLR team as well as directly with client teams.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Collaborate extensively with other engineers to design and implement data models that improve analytics and enable insights based on client business requirements
Provide technical mentorship to your team as we balance between developing data pipelines, infrastructure, and architecture
Work closely with the BLR leadership team to hire & build a high-performing team
Continuously improve BLR's engineering capability
What we're looking for
1+ years of data engineering leadership experience
Minimum 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related fields
Proven experience improving engineering output and efficiency processes
Deep knowledge of SQL-based languages and Python or other similar programming languages
Expertise with data engineering concepts such as Relational database schemas, RDMS, ELT & ETL, data quality processes, and observability
Proficiency with data analysis concepts including running exploratory data analysis, understanding business users requirements, defining and implementing deep insights analyses, and choosing optimal visualization formats
Ability to work effectively in a client-facing role
Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate complex business activities, technical requirements, and recommendations
Optionally, proficiency with modern data stack tools including Airflow, dbt, Databricks, and Snowflake
Optionally, experience hiring, mentoring, and developing career plans for engineers of all levels
What you'll get
$160,000 -$230,000 yearly salary based on your location
