Creating a personal relationship with the customer

WHY

People do not care about how much you know until you show how much you care. It's important to understand in sales that you are as much, if not more, the product as the clients you represent.
When it comes to people buying from you, or being excited to work with you in a trainee capacity in the future, you should look at the goal being to get people on your side as friends first, then customers or business partners second.

HOW

Asking questions related to someone's family, occupation, and recreation.
Appropriate compliments
Clean jokes
This is something that can be learned and doesn't require a certain personality, or for you to be naturally funny. Learn a few lines that work with your personality and that you can integrate in a conversation.
