Design Guide Intro

What is a brand guide?

Brand Guidelines are clearly defined rules and standards that communicate how your brand should be represented to the world. Brand guidelines help businesses ensure brand consistency and demonstrate what the company is, what it does, and what it stands for.
Think of it like a brand ‘guidebook’ that centralizes the overall look and feel of your brand identity – such as its logo, color palettes, typography, tone of voice, and other elements that contribute to your unique brand identity. These specifications enable everyone involved in promoting your business and representing your brand’s image to communicate consistently about its mission, principles, and personality.
Brand identity is more than just your brand’s logo or product, it’s your brands personality - the general impression you leave on people. It’s based on every experience and interaction with your brand—those you control and those you don’t. Your brand identity is the defining emotional bond between you and your audience - and that bond is key when purchase decisions are made.
The key principles of good branding are to build a relationship with your audience, establish trust, be consistent, and maintain your brand values.
