A governance mechanism for great good
From a very high level, Option is about making it profitable for companies to do things considered good by their community. You can mentally categorize Option in the same bucket as mechanisms for retroactive funding for public goods and externality pricing.

Treat governance as externality pricing, and solve externality pricing with a
Solve the information asymmetry and with an on-chain pseudonymous arbitration system (that's where comes in)
Solve the judge selection problem with which localize consequences for governance choices to the individual (converting public goods into club goods).
