Values
My core values are mostly a constellation around my *highly* aquarian nature. I believe in the power of connection, creativity, and creating new systems that allow all involved to flourish (hence my excitement about the potential that Cohere has). I believe in moving beyond zero-sum games. I believe in that all things have spirit, and that its time to reclaim the sacred. I believe in freedom, live and let live, and the interconnected nature of all things.

Who and what do you care about? What causes or issues matter to you the most?
First and foremost, I care about saving the earth's ecosystems from the destructive patterns of our current culture of extraction. I am dedicated to co-creating a new culture of regeneration, abundance, and win-win economics where we can create financial wealth based on healthy lands, healthy food production, and healthy communities. Instead of our current paradigm, where wealth is created by exploiting or extracting value out of these spaces, leaving them desecrated and degraded for future generations to deal with.
I am the Director of Regeneration at ReCommon, which is creating a new currency (LandCoin) that is backed by this common wealth. We envision a new economic system where wealth is created by lands getting healthier- not the other way around. We seek to partner with groups like Cohere to create a new world in which the extractive paradigm is turned on its head, and left behind forever. ReCommon is specifically focused on unfucking our food and agricultural systems.
The three problems that we seek to solve are: 1.) Lack of land access for young (and old) farmers who want to farm regeneratively. 2.) The current ag. market disincentives regenerative practices (trust me, I know! Been a farmer for the past 10 years). 3.) Loss of prime ag. land to development/ urbanization. We solve these problems by creating a new commons (hence the name) that is decentralized in both governance and ownership, and that nourishes authentic connections between ReCommon users and the farmers/ land stewards. We are in lots of conversations with various other partners in the ReFi space, including BitGreen, Totem, and Regen Network. For more information on this project, please check out ReCommon.io
I care about my community, my girlfriend, and my family. One thing that I really value about myself is that I always show up for these people, through thick and thin. I am the one who people call when they need an extra hand moving, or want someone to run a new business idea by. I care about my community, and it gives me deep satisfaction to show up for them.
I care deeply about and have dedicated much of my last few years to the art and process of transformational healing. For myself, for those around me, and for the world. I am a student of renowned Shipibo Shaman Arturo Izquierdo, and spend a few months every year in the jungle of Peru working as his apprentice at the Caya Shobo Healing Center (see cayashobo.com for more info). I have worked at the healing center as both a facilitator and as the general manager, spending up to 4 months at a time on plant dieta. Lot more to say about this, but Ill leave it until we meet in person.
This is not a full list of the things that I care about, but I think it gives you a good taste of the flavor of my values.
What inspires you to focus your energy on this work?
Making the world a better place for my children, grandchildren, -> seven generations out.
Briefly describe your professional background and core creative skills.
I have been involved in regenerative agriculture for the past ten years, working as chief of operations at a few different farms. I most recently was COO at New Family Farm in Sebastopol (Newfamilyfarm on instagram) where we had 10 acres of veggie production and 2.5 acres of licensed cannabis production. All certified organic, and inspired by both permaculture and bio-dynamic principles. This last year, I decided to shift my focus into the ReFi space in order to be of better service to the world. I co-founded ReCommon with a few close friends, inspired by the ideas of Charles Eisenstein in his book Sacred Economics, as well as the problems we all were consistently running into as farmers who wanted to farm regeneratively.
What helps you to be successful in a collaborative environment or team?
Having a healthy culture created around the collaboration. No shaming, people aren't afraid to throw crazy ideas out there, non-violent communication, etc. A healthy culture where the goal is to collectively come up with the best, most creative, and most elegant solutions to the problems being tackled, not "being right" or "being the one who decides" or any of that outdated hierarchy/ patriarchy bullshit.
What is your familiarity with blockchain, crypto and DAOs?
Actively engaged with an existing DAO
Of the roles listed above, which are you most excited to contribute and why?
Regenerative agriculture and land development. I have many years of experience working in land-based, intentional communities and regenerative ag. Given that experience, I think I have a lot to offer Cohere weaving the regenerative agriculture piece into the overall vision. I can help cultivate the communities' connection to the land that they are living on through the sacred practice of growing food and proper land stewardship. I think this could be, and should be, a pillar of the Cohere experience. It is clear to me that most (if not all) digital nomads crave an authentic connection to place, to the land that they are inhabiting, and I know first hand that it can go so much deeper than a 4 hour permaculture workshop (though thats a great start!). I think that I can be a key catalyzer in this regard, helping envision and creating experiences at the cohere spaces that allow the members to enter into a deep communion with the land where they are living - this type of relationship with land has changed my life more than once, and I know that this holds even more true for those who are constantly working on a screen.
PS: I also think that there could be some amazing partnership opportunities between Cohere and ReCommon... would love to jump on a call to discuss these further.
