Partnerships (Dakotah)
Partnership Stakeholders
1. Standard land-lease model
Landowner receives tokens, owner stakes the land with a 99-year lease
Cohere builds on the land, the land becomes part of the land trust
Value proposition for owners
2. Affiliate program model (like Experience House)
Cohere Commons, partner/affiliate would use Cohere facilities and do a profit share back from the events being hosted
3. Partner fundraising through Cohere
Partner brings in investors, contributes towards a specific facility they will use
Partner brings in members and events, contributes back to Cohere
Each bio-node (sub-DAO) can build a pool for investors in specific properties that can also go back to the central “kitty”. Earmarking the investment for liquidity.
Question about the percentage. It depends on the use case.
The value is the leverage. Cohere creates the teams, or leverages with specific partners with specific skillsets.
The DAO is the organization that is funneling in the people with skills to do the things. “Ok DAO, this piece of land is coming in, here’s who and what we need to accelerate the process”
4. Affiliate referral to develop a new facility within the network (wasn’t too clear on this one)
Next Steps (Sam K) - Who are the archetypes that we want to reach and work with?
Communications (Aspen)
Find a way to communicate “What is Cohere?”
What is “the heaven that we all feel here?”
What is the hell? The things in our world that we want to move away from?
Cohere is the vehicle and the spaces where we get to collaborate and co-create. Led to a conversation about BrightBridge. An entity that is in a relationship with Cohere and potentially other partners.
Josh: Where we did all of the R&D for Cohere and how it would operate. Holds the framework and IP of Cohere. To have a new system, you need all of the pieces. Right now, Cohere is the living spaces - starting with the home as the new system. Then we bring in the other pieces. BrightBridge comes in and co-owns all of the pieces of the system… (not clear)
Aspen: It’s a new financial technology, the regenerative fund. We can’t communicate to people from a place of truth if we don’t know what all of the pieces are. What is the Co-Lab? This is the minimum viable product. What we witnessed and are experiencing is so much deeper than - land, co-working, and co-living. We are experiencing a tangible feeling of - I don’t want to lose this - but we have been conditioned to scarcity. Everyone has a place if we are creating a place for abundance. We necessarily have to be threads in this greater quilt.
Went through a process with Dylan… the formulas to give people what they need… what are the outcomes? “If we don’t take action, our society will collapse.” In order to iterate, we have to have something solid to start with or poke at.
What we’ve really experienced here is being in a group of people where if we can really show up for each other, to be in a space where we remind one another of our greatness, where being a human is ok.
What are the Co-Labs? What is our 6-month plan? Co-Labs can be these energetic spaces where people are learning to collaborate across unique visions… Instead of anyone owning one thing - how can we inspire to entrust each other with our unique visions?? Unstructured partners… Is there a formula? Is there a Cohere presentation during Experience House? Can we use the Co-Labs to continue experimenting on how we collaborate and then share those tools and learnings with everyone here and our partners?
To speak to what this is - none of this is set in stone. We get to say - how do we cocreate this in a way that feels true to all of us?
Cohere provides spaces that empower innovators to create regenerative solutions that enable a new way of living. If people do not have a means to offer their genius towards a unified vision, they will lose faith in themselves, the world, and the possibility of fulfilling their purpose. By providing access to abundant resources, supportive community and a collaborative environment, we empower innovators to birth a new collective reality.
Bright Bridge
We built Bright Bridge to [ transition humanity from individual ownership to collective stewardship ]. If people [ continue to compete for finite resources ], [ our planet will no longer support thriving life ]. By providing [ the economic incentive to live in right relations with the earth ], we [ create a more equitable world that is in service to all life, while leaving a legacy that ripples across generations to come ].
co:lab
We created co:labs to [ curate the changemakers and rebels who are committed to shaping the future ]. Unless [ humanity unites towards a collective vision, our planet will no longer support thriving life ]. By providing [ incubation spaces for audacious solutions to be birthed ], we [ create the conditions to reimagine and rebuild the way we live, work and thrive together ].
CohereDAO
Our Process
Core principles
What are the values of the world view that we share?
Map of stakeholders
Who is affected by Cohere DAO? Who is going to affect it? What perspectives do we need?
Mentorships
What perspectives do we need to stay aligned with our purpose?
What are the criteria to become a member? What is the process? Categories?
Structure
Governance and decisional bodies. What are Cohere’s recuurent activities? Topics of interests? What groups should be meeting regularly? How is power distributed between the decision-making bodies?
Democratic processes
What is the process leading to a proposal (sense-making)? Process leading to a decision? How do we vote? Do we need total consensus or majority vote?
Core Values (Kirsten)
Fundamentals of the world view we hold (evolving process)
Purpose and Practice
Creating a shared foundation for the DAO
Maintain the integrity of the Cohere mission
An intention to create a constitution for the DAO. A proposal made can be filtered through the principles before it is voted upon.
Informs the sense-making and decision-making processes
Everything will go through an iteration process
Considerations
Paradigm shifts take time
Can we provide stepping stones towards the adoption of principles?
Maybe there are no nonnegotiables and all of this is an evolutionary process
Humility is part of this and the evolution
Allowing for human fallacies. We can be visionary about who we want to be and where we want to go, but we need to build it in
Bringing in a multitude of voices…
Be mindful of the language we are using.
Beginning Truths / Positions we hold…

Analyzing constitutions and how they’ve been applied (Mile)
Synthesize a first draft proposal
Feeback from Discord:
(Mark) Something really valuable about what you’re doing… Listening to a podcast that spoke to the loss of indigenous knowledge. There’s something there about collecting indigenous knowledge, creating a bank, not only powerful for Cohere, but in general for human population. We don’t know all of the humans and animals we are losing to deforestation. We don’t know the wisdom we are losing through indigenous communities. Are you creating a bank of knowledge for indigenous knowledge?
Kirsten - indigenous wisdom and wisdom across the world. Dylan and Holly were talking about the ability to create an online brain.
Aspen - I love this being brought up. How are we going to bring this or that in? Everyone who is an advocate for anything - here’s certain values or principles we want to bring in - we can’t do that on our own. If you find that you’re someone who can offer or connect this wisdom or seed banks - then you can feel empowered to support that area. Allowin the network to expand through that so that we have different areas of expertise from different realms. Hearing you say that - If this is something you’re passionate about - amazing - help us create that. We don’t have the answers, but we have the platform for people to bring their passions.
Stakeholders of CohereDAO (Caroline)

Externalities
These are the first steps toward defining the stakeholders
Structure:
(Diagram of structure)
Guild leaders
Task guilds - Support CohereDAO operations and bounties, sends tasks to the board and vice versa,
Best practices guilds - propose/review internal policies, educational materials, support and advise bio nodes
Both - send proposals to the Board
Guilds: operations, marketing/communications, best practices (diversity, regeneration, governance, web3 practices)
Relationship with the Board
Board members
information flow, strategy, roles/responsibilities, vibe check
Create tier 2 proposals (gene
Manage / assign mutli-sig
Create bounties
Sounding board but does not have power to enact decisions
Can ask for advise from guilds
Tier 2
general assembly,
part of the governance, votes on proposals from the board
Must have an NFT to reach Tier 2
Tier 1 members
can buy their way in, no voting power
Advising board
Diverse expertise
Community appoints these experts
Community can ask for advice
Bio regional nodes
Part of a structure that is larger than them: land trust, etc
Fairly autonomous, but operates within the core principles
Council
Wisdom keepers appointed by the community to protect the core principles
Conducts major conflict resolution
Blocks proposals that violate the core principles
Details can be established in an entire Co:Lab in itself
Next Steps:
Refine titles and names for categories, decision making bodies
Refine power distribution between decision making bodies
Create first guilds
Josh: the council is representative of the supreme court
Dakotah: the board will get really big, like a legislative branch
Regenerative Community Land Trust Model (Charlie)
RCLT Mission
RCLT offers a set of tools that can be utilized by the CohereDAO
Not every property needs to go into a CLT (codify checks and balances)
Returning the earth to its original owner, which is the earth itself
The trust holds land on behalf of a certain mission (decided upon by Cohere and stakeholders)
The leaseholder (Cohere) has to abide by the lease terms, determined by operating agreement of the bio-regional nodes. Divided through a cocreation process
Each bio regional board has 3-4 member board, legal representatives of the membership
The governance of the membership is split into thirds
Lease holders
Communities
Rights of Nature and Indigenous Wisdom
A council that can speak on behalf of the land itself
Cohere NFTs (Marcus)
(infographic for each tier)
Tier 0 - Seed
Anyone can join. Member of the discord service
Tier 1 - Sprout
Genesis NFT, intro member
Tier 2 - Sapling
Tier 3 - Plant
Tier 4 - Tree
Tier 5 - Forest
Different requirements to earn a higher Tier… refer to document
Martin: NFTs that can grow with your involvement. Decentralized way of working and building “experience points” through tasks and involvement. You can trade out your NFT or you can continue to build processes. The experience stays with you but the NFT can be sold.

Next Steps
Refining the different proposal categories
Defining voting thresholds for each proposal category
Defining voting methods and modaitis for each type of proposal
Playground (Martin)
Web of trust
Poietic generator - how do you co-create on a piece of land? Instead of a pixel-war, everyone has an inalienable right to determine what the picture looks like(?) … equal distribution of interest to build on land. What are your priorities? Online game (Google it)
Metaverse - Create a metaverse equivalent of the actual properties… Cloud city where people can ideate and agree on a canvas, then it can be actualized in the metaverse, which could potentially become something that becomes material in the physical.
Next Steps Convo
Aspen: I don’t know if we’re ready for guilds yet. I’d love to know when groups are going to continue to meet because I’d like to sit in on them. I don’t think we need weekly meetings, but maybe bi-weekly or monthly… Id like to see momentum keep building on this.
Dakotah: I see the passion and wisdom from each group that is forming. What is the efficient frequency for these conversations to continue? What are the proto guilds that need to happen first coming from this event.
Dylan: My number one question is to clarify and understand that the total DAO has on these sub DAOS, for example Earth Pulse. How do these individual businesses that want to stake to Cohere have to be involved in this larger “federal system” have on my state (business)? If it’s going to influence my business, I may need to be more involved in that process.
Dakotah: What is the omni win or ideal? Set up a proposal, get some feedback from stakeholders. Be mindful of
Dylan: I don’t know how much I should get involved in other things if theyll affect my business
Alec: We’ll need to take on more specialized roles and brin in additional people to execute these things. I see myself in a project management role… On the partnership green side, how do we make sure we are getting the right info to the right people. Who do we need to bring in outside of the group now to fill in special roles?
Martin: For anyone who feels uncomfortable about what influence the DAO will have on their business, they can sell their…. Even if something sells within the governance structure, you still have the bio nodes that can have some level of autonomy. We need to discuss time zones for those of us in other parts of the world. I want to contribute to the best of my ability to the continued development of the DAO, the NFTs… I love this project and am happy to step in as much as I can.
Marcus: Community Growth working group and the XXX working group. It’s a bit about self selection. We’ll meet weekly. We’ll have a central node where we meet up and then work asynchronously. We have a Coda doc we work on collaboratively.
Alec: For people who are contributing most actively, Moshi can be used to track contributions asynchronously if there is interest.
Charlie: How should we structure this conversation? I would love to stay involved in the DAO working group. There are a lot of questions from community that are just arriving for the first time. I was indoctrinated to understand what it is we’re doing… but how do we provide the information for new people? I would love to steward the regeneration guild when that is ready.
Dakotah: We can create different channels on Discord now to start these conversations with control settings about who can post.
Marcus: Aleena, what have you learned in working with DAOs?
Aleena: The quality of input is not equal to the quantity of time. One, this idea of convergence and divergence. Is it even productive for all of us to be in every weekly or biweekly call? Can those who are invested be a part of the convergent process? Can we create a process where it is a cyclical structure, where the DAO can take ownership in how/when that call is held? Can we just come together once per month? Can we come prepared to do work together on these calls? The DAO governance team has been working on this, how can Communications team help us with this? I see a lot of attrition (in other DAOs). Everyone has a strong desire to stay connected, but if its too much of a time crunch, it can be hard to do that.
Aspen: I like the idea that people have mentioned about how they want to be involved. It’s coming from a place of what people want to contribute rather than filling a structure. So much of what I’d like to be in service of is inspiring - other communities, this community, inspiring partnerships and funding. Im in for recurring meetings weekly to go into - what is the road map, where are we at? I like the idea of convening, there is so much power in that but it would be too much to have this whole group on one call without lead representatives. I’m all in as far as time. Speaking to the exchange that happened in this space.
Dylan: Can we send someone the relevant information about how much time we have and how we’d like to be involved?
Aleena: Most important is creating a document from this Co:Lab. Potentially break out into existing groups… The artifacts of the Co:Lab itself.
Dakotah: We decided on a structure that was very structured in the morning and loose in the afternoon, but what can we do differently next time? What is your passion? How do you see yourself plugging in?
Kirsten: I can create a form that everyone can fill out with these questions.
Sami: Identify what we need vs what everyone can give in the moment. We looked at a roadmap, but my understanding is that it will shift based on the next steps identified. But it may not align to the next steps of the overall vision. Develop actionable steps about how we activate the team, the DAO, etc. Theres something to be said about structure. Allowing those meetings to be sounding boards.
Dakotah: After this event we wil synthesisze our learnings and then come back with suggestions on ideal structures.
Sami: That can tentatively be the objective for the next meeting in a month: for you to synthesize and present your learnings and gain feedback. The first one - put an hour on the calendar with a specific agenda and what will be covered. From there we can create more intentional working groups.
Marcus - Next steps
Sending out a survey
Schedule a regroup meeting
DAO group has steps they can move forward on
Alex: Some people are ready to jump in on the Discord, it may be just creating some ways that these people can continue to be involved and make it accessible and a co-created process.
Aspen:
Repeat back on next steps
Cohere Founders will regroup and present their findings and next steps
We then can align and individually determine how to continue involvement based on that plan
The groups here can also meet on their own to continue work and conversations.
Sami:
We can establish cohorts, so this would be Cohort 1, or call it something else
Daily integration… What comes up?
There may be more feedback that evolves in the next week. How much feedback will we have now while we’re here vs once we integrate back into our daily lives.
