Users Roles & Permissions

This project will bring in a new set of types of users starting with a few roles and eventually adding additional roles after this project. We are doing this to give CLIENT time to define what new user roles will look like and what permissions will be necessary for those types of users.

User Roles

Here is a list of user roles we have identified and will create.
Administrative user roles
Users who should have some level of administrative and editing access. Assigning users to these roles will require a manual assignment by an administrator.
Administrator
All content authoring and management permissions
Administer menus
Manage redirects, URL aliases, comments, and user created groups
Bypass all access checks

Developer
All permissions

Authenticated user roles
These users are set with the SSO login process. Users can belong to multiple groups.
Authenticated User
DOES NOT have access to any groups functionality
Can view additional pages beyond the frontpage
Member
Create Groups
Create Writing Projects
Join groups that have open enrollment
Message other users directly
Leave groups

Anonymous users
Default users who are not logged in. They will only have permissions to see the frontpage and select page content types.
This is a public user that has not logged into the site.
