Snowbreak: Containment Zone Tier List and Guide

NOTE: This tier list and guide in general is for neural simulation, as all other content can be cleared with any character right now
IMPORTANT: if you are viewing this guide on mobile, please click the blue table icon on the top left of each table. Otherwise, it will only show the first column of each table

Introduction:
Neural Simulation is the only competitive game mode currently in Snowbreak: Containment Zone, where your goal is to defeat bosses as fast as possible, using teams of 3 characters. In this mode, you are ranked against other players based on the time it takes to defeat the two , and earn certain profile borders you can use if you get into the top 5% and 1% respectively. Note that there are no additional rewards given past clearing Neural Simulation 4, which is easy, and you can use whoever you want for these lower difficulties, as they have no time limit

Tier List Criteria:

Tier
Criteria
1
SS
DPS: Highest DPS and fastest time against the majority of bosses, with relatively low investment. Also, they are relatively easy to use and learn
Support: Supports that benefit the best dps in the game, being basically universal or slotting into a large number of meta teams. Have extremely high damage buffs or unique abilities
2
S
DPS: Good DPS with fast times against some of bosses, but require higher investment. Also, they might be a bit more skill dependent to use.
Support: Supports that benefit many dps, but are still on the niche side and only work in certain team comps/are not as good as other optionns. However, given two supports are used on most teams, it is very possible they will be taking up a team slot
3
A
DPS: DPS with solid times against the majority of bosses, but are worse than the options in tiers above. However, against certain bosses or with high investment, they can potentially preform better than higher tiered operatives
Support: Supports that offer solid increases in damage, but are niche with a select (or only one) operative, or don't offer as much benefits as other characters
4
B
DPS: DPS that are outclassed by others, but still preform decently. Most of these characters can be used as substitutes or other options if you do not have higher tier operatives.
Support: Supports that can provide solid buffs or support, but are still outclassed by other supports, and generally aren’t the best pick
5
C
DPS: Outclassed by other DPS, and don't even preform as well as easily obtainable characters. Can still be used to clear the bosses, but will have slow times.
Support: Supports that are outclassed by others, don’t have useful abilities in the currennt environment, or give negligible buffs

Important Notes:

Neuronics state which cluster they are (1-6 as shown through the guide) if you click on one of the nodes, and then press “Details”
Neuronic 1 is top left
Neuronic 2 is top right
Neuronic 3 is middle left
Neuronic 4 is middle right
Neuronic 5 is bottom left
Neuronic 6 is bottom right
All 4* gacha weapons can also be obtained in the daily shop for 300,000 silverbucks, and may be worth getting the “support weapons” (Prismatic Igniter, Strawberry Shortcake, Deep Sea’s Call, Frigatebird, Lapis Lazuli) if you have enough silverbucks to spare
The manifestation column in the tier list will often highlight the most important manifestations for the character, or recommend a stopping point for certain characters whose manifestations aren’t worth grinding for
In the Personal File Section, you can farm shards of characters, which you can use to obtain manifestations (similar to constellations in Genshin). You can farm 2 shards per day for each 5* character after completing their personal file story
Event Logistics can now be farmed in the “Mind Refinement” operation after their corresponding event
Event Shop 4* weapons can be farmed in the “Arms Hub” operation after their event
5* weapons under limited characters (Crowned Flail for Siris-Ksana, for example) will be assumed to be limited, unless otherwise stated
Healers and Shielders are ranked relatively low on this tier list due to them not being useful for clearing content fast. However, they still can be incredibly useful if you are struggling to stay alive while defeating the boss
All bosses are vulnerable to the slow effect, while the other effects (paralyze, freeze, stun) only work on certain bosses
Titans are weak to freeze, mechs (robots) are weak to paralyze, and humanlike entities are weak to stun
Ballistic (Shooting) Damage is better against shields, dealing double the damage
This tier list guide does not account for weekly modifiers, so characters may preform better or worse than expected on certain weeks/bosses

Logistics Substat rolls:

image.png
Third Talents (Also known as Lvl 15 talents or stats) are unlocked at lvl 15, and have separate stat options than the first and second talents (substats)
Third Talents can be rerolled with Application Revisions, but the first and second stats cannot
Event Logistics can be bought in the unlimited section of the event shop during their respective event

Characters:

Cherno-Enigma

image.png
Overview:
Cherno-Enigma is a skill based dps who deals the majority of her damage in her “detonations” of her orbs, based on the number of stacks of Enmity, a DoT effect, capping out at 300. She can gain these stacks by shooting enemies (2 stacks per shot, as well as ricochets one of her neuronics) , using her ult(100 stacks). Additionally, placing an orb (30 stacks) or enemies being within the radius of her orbs (1 stack per second, regardless of number of orbs they are touching) gains more stacks.

After stacking enmity, you can hold down the skill button if the enemy is close to any of the orbs on the field or Cherno herself, and they will detonate, taking massive damage depending on the number of enmity stacks that can even one shot bosses at high investments!

Notes:
Uninvited Adieu is very strong, and is recommended to pull if you have the funds
The number of orbs touching the enemy doesn't effect the detonation damage
Cherno can get a 4 second slow on her ult, which can be useful in certain circumstances
Even if using Cherno as a dps, it is recommended to get all neuronics unlocked to get the alignment index and deiwos passive
Cherno can also ignore damage reductions such as Njall with her DoT and detonations
Cherno is NOT an offield dps, as she gets a significant amount of her damage from detonations and shooting
Extremely high investment Cherno can skip fiend phases, making her in theory the best character against Fiends, but this is only with really high investment and in general pretty impossible to pull off

Katya-Blue Bolt

image.png
Overview:
Katya is a ballistic damage focused character with the new weapon type, the crossbow. This weapon cannot crit, but does gain ballistic damage bonuses from crit stats (0.6% per 1% crit dmg / 1% per 1% of crit rate). It has both an explosive fire and a rapid fire variation that can be switched by reloading, but as of now, there is no point to use the explosive fire in neural sim.
Katya’s skill, arguably her most important part of her kit, prevents her from moving, but massively increases her fire rate, allowing her to absolutely shred bosses. Her gameplay is very simple, just staying in a singular spot, and turreting down bosses. Her ult is pretty much useless (just more damage) aside from the passive aptitude buff, and using her offield is a waste.

Notes:
Katya is extremely good against Njall, especially with Shadow Ka
Katya’s manifestations past M1 are extremely insignificant, except M2 for partbreaking. This makes her one of the best units against Joseph-Hardened. However, other than partbreaking, only M1 is necessary

Yao-Winter Solstice

image.png
Overview:
Yao-Winter Solstice, despite being a standard 5*, still is arguably the strongest DPS character in the game. Her skill quickly reloads a bullet, dealing damage in a small AOE with a damage boost. However, the best use for her skill is simply to spam reload bullets, as the s-energy cost is relatively cheap, and it has 5 charges.
Her ult gives Yao a rail gun she can use to evaporate bosses, drastically increasing the damage her normal ballistic shots do. She does require both M1 and Space Cowboy to be the best she can possibly be, as M1 allows her to use her standard skill to reload her ult, and Space Cowboy can double her ballistic dmg whenever she reloads (including with her skill). She doesn’t preform that well against hordes of enemies, but since neural simulation is boss focused, she is amazing.

There are no rows in this table
Notes:
Yao is able to maintain her high placement despite being a launch character due to extremely high ult dps, and Tess + Shadow Ka benefitting her a lot
Space Cowboy is probably the only weapon in the game that is “needed”, and should be bought as soon as possible with 480 reward codes
Selecting Yao from the free 5* selector is always recommended if you care about high scores in Neural simulation
Mark of Mesmer and Wetland Park are about equal, and whichever one has the highest tier is recommended to use
While Yao is very strong in Neural, she isn’t the best character for casual stages due to her being single target focused
Yao is a surprisingly good part breaker during her ultimate form, but is worse than shotguns at purely partbreaking. However, after the necessary parts are broken, she more than makes up for it in damage.

Chenxing-Ethereal Cloud

image.png
Overview:
Chenxing-Ethereal Cloud is a hybrid that both enjoys deals both skill and ballistic damage. Her standard skill marks enemies with slips, including each individual part. If the enemy is shot, then all slips will deal damage each shot. It can deal damage to each individual enemy part, making her by far the best character for both Hela variants, and should be used against both of them. She is also pretty good against Cerberus for the same reasons.
Her ultimate, is pretty bad in general, as it is primarily a tool against hordes, and not strong against bosses. However, since time freezes during ult animations, you can use her ult to reset her slips. Surprisingly, her support skill is actually useful against certain fights, as paralyzes can be used to interrupt certain enemies’ invulnerability phases. In light of the release of Enya-Exuvia, she has become much better, but is still not as strong as the SS tier operatives against the majority of bosses

Notes:
Chenxing has a unique synergy with Shadow Ka, as her dummy counts as another part for chenxing to lock onto
As stated before, she is by far the best character for both the Hela bosses and other bosses with many parts
Despite Fiend having multiple parts, Haru-Absconditus is better than her due to her slower time to break Fiend’s pillars
Despite the Mingyi squad being made for her, Amano is still better due to its buffs being much easier to maintain

Fritia-Hush

image.png
Overview: Fritia-Hush is an extremely strong DPS in theory, however, she needs very high investment to be used. All her skills are not great, except for her ultimate, which allows you to control a giant laser that can do stupid amounts of damage at high investment. M1 is the bare minimum, but m4 is strongly recommended.
It should be noted that Tess has extremely good synergy with her but must be M3 so her ult attacks trigger with Hush’s laser. However, Yao-Winter Solstice, with lower investment can have faster clears than Hush, and only against Joseph-Hardened can Hush beat out Yao with ideal investments.

Notes:
The main reason Hush does better than Yao for Hardened is due to the necessity of a part breaker
Yet again, Hush is an amazing character, but requires really high investment
Her signature weapon is pretty highly recommended given the best alternative is a 3* weapon
Thebes is the best logisitcs squad, due to Fenya only being active for 10 seconds

Haru-Absconditus

image.png

Overview: Haru-Absconditus is a mobbing focused DPS who is very good in casual content, and less focused on neural simulation. However, it should be mentioned that she is still decent at clearing bosses. Her standard skill deals an AOE attack that deals pretty solid damage, and her ult deals damage enters a special form, where recasting the ult will do an AOE slash in a massive radius for a lot of victory points, and her skill is enhanced to instead cost victory points instead of S-energy. However, when she runs out of victory points, her ult ends.
Haru has two niches in neural simulation, both of them being surprisingly useful. Her support skill offers an extremely valuable stun, which can be used to interrupt certain bosses’ invincibility phases, such as Sartre. Her other niche is against the two fiend bosses as Haru is by far the best character to use against both Fiends. Her skill can hit every individual part of the fiends, thus leading them to take massive damage from all the different hits.
With Star Ocean, she can also inflict bleed on every part of the Fiend, dealing even more stupidly good damage. This is not even accounting for that her ult can one shot all 4 pillars at once

This build is made for Neural Simulation, not usual content. Star Ocean is worse than 16-Psyche for mobbing, and all other bosses other than Fiend
While Haru can work against other multiple part bosses, she loses to Chenxing in all other matchups other than the Fiends
Haru is undeniably the best character right now for hordes of enemies, including gigalink, underground purge, and most story missions

Marian-Swift

image.png

Overview: Marian-Swift is a interesting sniper who benefits significantly with manifestations. While not as extreme as Hush, she is still pretty high investment. Assuming you are using her at least M1, she pairs well with dharma squad to increase her standard ballistic damage (non-ADS ballistic damage) after her spammable skill as well as automatically locking onto the enemy target.
ADS (Scoping) should only be used when the skill is on cooldown to refresh her ability to auto lock onto targets. Coupled with her deiwos that ignores defense on weakspots, Swift can do a lot of damage. Additionally, Horn of the Orca allows Swift to never have to reload given her rotations, especially with high manifestations. Without M1, you can play her like a typical ADS sniper with Amano-Iwato squad, but she will not be close to as good, and is highly recommended to rush M1. Also, as a ballistic DPS, she is much better against shields.
With the release of Woden-Demiurge, and Katya-Frostcap (Especially Frostcap), Marian is become much stronger, as she can take advantage of the massive kinetic weakness.

Notes:
Horn of the Orca is highly recommended to go for at high investments as crystal drill (an ADS focused sniper, which doesn't benefit Swift) is the only 4* kinetic sniper
The Wrench and Sweet Soul will outperform Wetland Park if Swift is M3
Marian Swift has a very mobile, untraditional sniper gameplay, which is very fun
Mauxir-Shadow Ka in theory should be the best support for Marian-Swift, but is buggy due to her skill being unable to crit

Fenny-Coronet

image.png

Overview:
DPS: Fenny-Coronet is a low investment shotgun that can perform well, but has fallen off a bit since release with the increase of new DPS. Her best ability, her standard skill, will rapidly increase her fire rate depending on her stacks of Mercy (Which are gained by shooting and defeating enemies), which allows her to pump out damage pretty quickly, and can shoot up to 10 pellets with Sunny Payback+her deiwos. Additionally, when first activating the skill, she will gain the max amount of Mercy.
The downside to this is her reload time is not cut, meaning she will be spending a lot of the battle reloading. This is the main problem with Coronet, as she will have significant dry spots between bursts of damage.
Her support skill with neuronic cluster 4 can be used her further boost her own fire rate, boosting her DPS, but even further extenuating the problem. Her other problem is, being a shotgun, she wants to get up close, and struggles against highly mobile bosses without Shadow Ka. Her ult is fine, but not really that great other than a short paralyze.
Support:
Despite seeming kind of strange, Fenny-Coronet is actually a decent support due to her ability in part breaking, mainly against Joseph-Hardened, where a part breaker is required. Which Eatchel is generally better due to her attack buff, Coronet can be used due to her firing up to 10 pellets, and her support skill increasing her own attack speed. It should be noted to not use her standard skill here as it reduces her part breaking ability.

In general, Discordance is the best pick out of weapon supply drop 1, so feel free to get it for Coronet

Lyfe-Wild Hunt

image.png

Overview:
DPS: Lyfe-Wild Hunt is a hybrid DPS that really enjoys having her manifestations. Her standard skill works on its own ammo system, shooting homing missiles at enemies at allow her to shoot her SMG while firing her missiles. She can replenish ammo for shooting enemies with M1, which is extremely helpful for her, and her M2, M4, and M5 help her. However, past M2, its probably not worth it to invest shards in her unless you really like Wild Hunt.
Stardust memory is definitely recommended, but it is not necessary. Another note is that while Wild Hunt was falling off a little, but Enya-Exuvia, especially being free, bolstered her preformance a lot, as Exuvia synergizes with Hybrid DPS

Support: Lyfe-Wild Hunt can be used as a support, especially with the release of Amarna squad and Alloy Truth. Since her support skill does DoT and over 10 seconds with her neuronics, this can constantly activate the “Aten's sight” buff of Amarna squad, and Alloy Truth is comically broken.
However, without Alloy Truth, you can run Frigatebird (4*) which can still do pretty solid. However, Alloy will really improve her performance. She needs no manifestations, and especially is good as a ballistic DPS support with Amarna, or a frost support if you run Twilight squad instead

Wild Hunt is even better against enemies with weak spots as it allows her to gain more skill ammo back
Wild Hunt can use Navigator against enemies that can be frozen, but given how good amarna is, it is not recommended in general
Specifically, Twilight can be used as a cost effective DPS option, as its not as good as Thebes, but its fairly close and allows for you to not need two different logistics sets for Lyfe

Fenny-Lionheart

image.png

Overview: Fenny-Lionheart is undeniably the best 4* DPS, but is ultimately worse than every 5* DPS. Her shotgun rush allows her to close the gap on enemies, and get right in their face to shoot them. Her ult, however, is really bad and basically useless. She has an extremely high base atk stat for a 4*, and does have a solid 4* shotgun option in Full Alert, albeit being a battle pass weapon.
However, Tiny Grains + her abilitiy to self shield allows her to activate Tiny Grains’ debuff, which increases her attack even more. M1 makes her really fun to play against hordes of enemies, but doesn’t end up helping her in neural simulation.
However, given how good Amano Iwato is, you pretty much have to play her in ADS, limiting her mobility, and her ideal playstyle. Mauxir-Shadow Ka makes her really strong, especially with the dummy being locked in one place, though it might be a better choice to use Shadow Ka with a stronger DPS.

Full Alert is a really good 4* alternative, but is unfortunately limited to the battlepass.
As mentioned previously, she is really fun in content with hordes of enemies, given her M1, such as Paradoxical Labyrinth or Underground Purge

Mauxir-Meow

image.png
Overview: Mauxir-Meow is a character to attempts to circumvent the weakness on smgs by creating an “ID avatar” with her standard skill, which can ignore the high ricochet rates. This is the bread and butter of her kit, which can have 100% uptime with M1. Her ult is an execute ability that grants her an aptitude effect scaling off her HP if it fails to execute, which is fine. Nothing incredible, however. Prefers Battle Veteran, but there any many alternatives if needed

Despite Mauxir being a DPS, battle veteran is so ridiculously good it can be used despite being the wrong element (Chaos)
Eli Squad only works with frost weapons

Marian-Queen of Pain

image.png

Overview:
DPS: Marian-Queen of Pain, unlike her 5* version, is a very simplistic sniper with very simplistic abilities. However, they are still pretty effective. Her standard skill creates a dummy that taunts enemies, which is fairly useful to distract enemies.
However, the main usefulness of the skill is surprisingly its passive, which increases ballistic damage while ADS (Scoping), up to 20% increased dmg (22% at M4). Her ult is literally just a singular powerful shot (especially with neuronics) thats basically considered ballistic dmg.
The ult is fine, and if you hold down on it, you can aim and lock unto enemies. Its not gamechanging, but does pretty solid damage. It is really cheap as well, only costing 50 energy with a 5 second cooldown. Then again, you can literally just send small enemies flying with it.
Support: Arguably, Marian is better as a Chaos support basically only due to Cherno-Enigma. With her 4th neuronic unlocked, her support skill reduces the chaos res of enemies hit without a shield, which Enigma prefers regardless, by 20%, which is really good.
Couple this with Twilight squad + Deep Sea’s Call (Or even Disco Confusion) you can provide a massive damage increase to Enigma, making her an amazing support. Tess is stronger than Marian when using them with Cherno, but only if you are hitting extremely quick times (1-2 detonate speedruns). Plus, Marian is a 4*, and Tess is a limited 5* (more expensive and harder to get)

Acacia-Kaguya

image.png
Overview:
Acacia-Kaguya was the first ever limited character, and is absolutely busted. The only important part of her kit is her support skill, as while her standard skill was buffed to work offield, it really isn’t worth using, even with her Deiwos’s ability. Her support skill throws a “dart” at enemies, sucking them in while following them, which importantly decreases their all type resistance by about 24%.
Acacia’s universal shred is absurd, and given its high uptime, Kaguya is extremely easy to slot into any teams. Her ultimate in general is good against hordes, but tends to be useless in neural simulation Kaguya can also use Amarna extremely well, with the only caveat being Amarna is limited to one set per team.
While Kaguya seems generalized, she is also an extremely strong frost support, using her signature Pine Aurora and running Twilight Squad. Even more, since using a frost weapon activates her M2, she can be really strong supporting someone like Katya or even Wild Hunt.

T2 Pine Aurora is better than Igniter T5 even for non-frost DPS especially at M2, but pulling two copies is in general not worth it.
Amarna, in theory will beat out Twilight for ballistic frost DPS, but since you can only have one Amarna per team, Frost DPS in general will want Kaguya with Twilight
Attack stats on logistics can be used only if you are using Igniter

Mauxir-Shadow Ka

image.png
Overview:
Mauxir-Shadow Ka is a stupidly good ballistic dmg support who really wants her manifestations. Her standard skill deals some damage based off HP, but it really isn't significant enough to actually use. Her ultimate can slow for 5 seconds, but ultimately (pun not intended) its not worth it in almost all circumstances. Her support skill is absolutely amazing, creating a dummy that transfers 110% of dmg (120% if M5) to the enemy target, while also dealing damage to it over time. This is includes both ballistic and skill damage.
Her dummy makes her an amazing candidate for Amarna, but more importantly, her M1 makes shots on it increase the crit rate of those attacks. It isn’t that significant for most weapons, but for shotguns and snipers, it increases crit rate by 100%. This is absurd, especially with Amano Iwato requiring crits for its buff, and makes snipers such as Yao-Winter Solstice absurdly powerful, hitting stupidly high numbers.
Her deiwos is actually really good with high single damage ballistic damage, such as Yao, so you may want to get all neuronics just for the alignment index + deiwos boost. If you can, get Alloy Truth as it is stupidly broken, and probably tied for the best event weapon with Cherno-Enigma’s.

Wave is only really viable at M3, as Frigatebird is much better otherwise. On that note, it is not necessary to get more than one Wave for the weapon part, as Amarna is extremely strong for many characters, and it most likely will be better just to farm for Amarna
Alloy Truth, as mentioned before, is amazing for many characters, not just Shadow Ka, and is definitely worth pulling

Tess-The Magician

image.png
Overview:
Tess is a character with a very limited, albeit powerful niche. Her standard skill is nothing but a gimmick, but her much more important powers come from her other abilities, specifically her ultimate. Her support skill boosts the damage type of the active operative (with neuronics) for 30%, which decays down to 15%. It can also inflict CC when you hit enemies with certain damage types (neuronic required again.
However, Tess’s much better ability is her ultimate, which costs 0 energy, and shots fired every 2 secs will trigger Tess’s follow up attack, regenerating a significant amount of ult energy. While Tess is mostly a U-energy battery, she does provide the biggest damage percent buff of all characters at 85% (With her T2 sig, its only 69% at T1), though other characters are better in general (If the character is not ult based)

Rushing Neuronic 3 in particular in extremely important, as without it, her support skill’s buff will only be for electrical damage
On the note of neuronics, her deiwos is pretty solid, so going for all neuronics may be worth it

Enya-Exuvia

image.png
Overview:
The first free 5* character in this game, and definitely does not disappoint. Her standard skill is fine, but unfortunately her paralyze does NOT work on bosses. Her main ability is her support skill, which places down a Zephyr machine, essentially creating a field that boosts skill damage by 30% when inside. Additionally, when the operative on field hits enemies with ballistic shots, it gains energy, and when they deal skill damage, it uses the energy to launch a coordinated attack on enemies. Additionally, it buffs skill damage a bit.
Given Exuvia’s requirements, she is definitely strong, but only with hybrid DPS such as Chenxing and Cherno, who use their skills as well as shooting. Additionally, her free event weapon is very strong, making her incredibly cheap and easy to build, and she was given free logistics with pretty good stats.

M1 is really strong with Enigma, as it A. builds up stacks on ricochet (SMG), and B. its just basically free personal damage

Fritia-Little Sunshine

image.png

Overview:
Fritia- Little Sunshine is a surprisingly strong 4* support character with her support skill. Her ultimate and standard skill arent very impressive, but her support skill is very strong. It gives the operative on field an aptitude effect, which does additional damage per hit, including multiple times for shotguns.
While the damage isn’t huge, the effects aptitude triggers are incredibly strong. She can trigger both parts of Amarna squad, and repeatedly triggers the Twilight buff. Additionally, her deiwos increases full team damage to burnt targets, which her support skill can trigger (Neuronic 3). Her ultimate isn’t terrible, but it is in general not worth it to use support ultimates.

Acacia-[Redacted]

image.png
Overview:
[Redacted] is literally guaranteed as the first gacha pull, and becomes one of the strongest welfare units, even with minimal investment. While her manifestations seemingly want her to become a DPS, her subpar damage with her skill quickly falls off after early game, even with bosses with multiple parts.
Her real value is in her support skill, which has slow, the only crowd control effect that works on all bosses, and has a fairly short cooldown (compared to Cherno-Those Two), so she can use the Navigator logistics extremely well.
She does have an ult that has a long slow effect, but its 100 u-energy cost is hard to justify using. Furthermore, Prismatic Igniter provides a solid attack buff whenever an Acacia uses her support skill. Additionally her deiwos works as a discount Tess, as it provides a bit (30-40) of u-energy when the battle begins

Eatchel-The Cub

image.png
Overview:
To start things off with the positives, Eatchel is an amazing healer. Her support skill passively heals a massive amount of health every second, leading to teams with Eatchel being pretty much unkillable. However, Eatchel doesn’t provide as large damage buffs as many other supports, leading her to not be great in neural simulation, as healing is pretty much useless there.
Her ultimate can provide a massive 2000 attack boost (at M5 fully invested) with all 6 “paws”, but support ultimates are generally not used (even with the cost being reduced to 40 conditionally), as it tends to be more worth it to use DPS ults to get more damage. Even with characters that don’t have amazing ults, such as Katya, they tend to prefer other supports.
Her 5* weapon, Blitzing Fangs, can provide an amazing always active attack buff (1080 at T1, 1800 at T2), and while this attack buff certainly is good, it still tends to be worse than other strong support characters with their signatures. Her support skill can also provide a stun when used actively to disrupt certain enemy’s invulnerability frames (though this requires pretty good timing), such as Sartre. Eatchel also can be used as decent part breaker given her standard skill’s abilities, and her buffs will carry to the DPS after parts are broken

Eatchel is the strongest dedicated partbreaker in the game given her buffs and standard skill

Chenxing-The Observer

image.png
Overview:
Chenxing is a skill support that also serves as a healer. As stated, healing tends to be pretty useless in Neural Simulation, but her skill support is pretty solid. It summons a turret which pumps out healing capsules, but more importantly, provides a 10% skill dmg buff whenever receiving the capsules (requires a neuronic).
Chenxing’s 10% skill dmg buff isnt big, but with her manifestations, she unlocks a “slayer aura” around her support skill’s turret, boosting skill dmg by 15%(M1)-30%(M3). A problem with this aura is it may be difficult to stay inside the radius, even with M5 expanding it (conditionally), given it provides no anti-interruption as opposed to the much better Enya-Exuvia.
While her standard skill is pretty useless for damage, it can be used to trigger Twilight squad if she is supporting an electric DPS, namely Chenxing, an electric DPS who deals a part of her damage based off skills.

Do not pull Trial’s Eve for her under any circumstances. Its worse than Strawberry Shortcake, and also is really bad in general

Siris-The Goldfish

image.png
Overview:
Pre-”Buff” Siris serves a role as a support character who can create a barrier with her support skill that blocks projectiles. At high investment, Siris’s shield can completely negate all projectile attacks, essentially allowing the on field operative to take no damage and no interruption either. However, Siris struggles against enemies with physical or AOE attacks, as her barrier will not block them.
M2 allows Siris to have some offensive capabilities, as well as her inherently being a shotgun, which makes her good as a substitute part breaker. If you are part breaking with her, neuronic 2 is incredibly beneficial, as it allows her to reload bullets using her standard skill.
Her ult provides a dome which is fine, but provides no offensive capabilities, and is pretty much unnecessary, at it is unlikely that you will need any additional sustain with her shield. If you are going for high scores, Siris’s offensive capabilities(M2) and anti-interruption (with her barrier blocking projectiles) doesn’t make up for her taking a team slot, but she is a good sustainer.

Cherno-Those Two

image.png
Overview:
Cherno-Those Two is a strange support character, who seemingly is meant to do both damage and crowd control. However her damage isn't that impressive. For her ult, she summons Beloborg, an entity that consumes Cherno’s HP to deal damage to enemies. Unfortunately, Beloborg’s damage is not that much, especially for an 80 cost ultimate (Beloborg also increases auxiliary unit’s damage with a neuronic, but currently there are no auxiliary DPS).
Cherno’s much more useful ability is her support skill, which turns into a Cherno phantom that you control, and any enemies that are passed through are slowed. You can cancel this ability by pressing the support skill button of Cherno again, and should cancel it as soon as you phase through the boss.
Her support skill’s slow is as long as Acacia-Redacted’s support skill, but comes with a longer cooldown. While Cherno may seem like an inferior [Redacted], she can utilize the extremely powerful Alloy Truth, a limited 5* weapon that is beyond broken.

If future DPS are auxiliary unit based, its possible that Cherno could become extremely good as an auxiliary support

Lyfe-Wednesday

image.png
Overview:
Getting it out of the way, Lyfe is a terrible DPS. Her design seemingly wants her ravens to do damage (given how bad SMGs are), but her ravens don’t really do significant damage either. Her support skill is extremely useful, as it gives a rare source of paralysis, that only one other character can easily use (Chenxing-Ethereal Cloud).
This paralysis can be timed just right to interrupt bosses’s invulnerability frames that are weak to paralysis (mostly machines/mechs), such as Teumessian’s dancing. However, given that only some bosses are weak to paralysis, she isn’t as strong as good as slowers, which applies to all bosses. She can use Alloy Truth which is broken, but its also a limited weapon.

Lyfe’s ult, similar to many other supports, is simply just not worth using

Enya-Big Sis

image.png
Overview:
Enya-Big Sis is an extremely specific support that doesn’t do her singular job that well. Her standard skill is too clunky to use in most circumstances, and her ult is too expensive, which leaves her with her support skill. This places a mud ball on the enemy, which can be detonated by shots (Ballistic DMG) to deal a singular instance of damage.
The main usefulness of this ability is to proc Twilight Squad’s thermal shred, as it has a short cooldown. However, other than this, Enya isn’t very useful, as her kit doesnt apply any inherent buffs, and simply is focused on dealing additional damage. However, her multipliers arent that high, and she still prefers logistics and weapons that buff teammates instead of improving her own stats

Nita-Hands

image.png
Overview:
Nita-Hands seemingly tried to become a DPS, but was so bad that she turned into a support. Both her skill and ultimate do damage (nothing else), and are pretty lackluster in total. Her support skill (with neuronic 4 unlocked) does provide a shield, which you can combine with Koffman Squad with Lapis Lazuli to get a solid attack buff.
Her main unique ability is iron body, which eliminates interruption when Nita or her allies have a shield. However, anti interruption isn’t that useful (Dodging exists), and Enya-Exuvia happened to get anti-interruption with her much better support skill

Haru-The Ace

image.png
Overview:
Haru-The Ace is made for of field damage, but really isnt impressive in any way. Her standard skill is unimpressive, as it requires her to fully charge up to do decent damage, which ends up with her wasting all her time charging up to do something semi-useful.
Her support skill in theory should be her best opinion, which deals up to 396% more final damage depending on how low the target’s HP is, serving as a psuedo execution ability. While it has a short cooldown, its low base damage (even with her deiwos), coupled with Haru’s low base attack makes it not as powerful as one may assume, especially against bosses.
Her ult can do powerful follow up attacks at M1, but costs 80 u-energy (60 at M3), which is way too expensive, as support ults tend to rarely be used, even with the damage it can in theory do (3600% at max, though getting close to this is unlikely). Additionally, you are forced to stay in a tiny AOE to proc the swords, somewhat similar to Chenxing-The Observer. Simply put, Haru is just not that strong, as she tries to be an offield DPS support, but her numbers are ultimately too low.

Notes:
For the love of god, DO NOT PULL STAR OCEAN FOR HARU-THE ACE
3600% damage makes Haru seem a lot better than she her base attack is very low
Even though she seems to be an offield DPS, she still would rather have a buffing weapon (Igniter) over a DPS pistol

Siris-Ksana

image.png
Overview:
Siris-Ksana essentially tries to become a Cherno-Enigma with AOE abilities, as her very cheap 15 cost ultimate is spammable, and can even be cycled extremely quickly, especially with her buffs! Her standard skill turns Siris into THE CAR™ and will ram into anyone, gaining stacks of resilience (2 every sec while charging) and will gain 25 resilience when detonated, as well as resetting the cooldown if an enemy was hit (neuronic 2).
These stacks of resilience can be used to charge her ult (up to 100/120 with M1), which will then deal a massive amount of burst damage. When using her ult, she locks on to enemies with Light Pagodas (up to 5) which can be spread out or dumped onto a single target. This makes her a surprisingly good single target DPS despite being focused on AOE.
Siris also has a mechanism known as rejuvenation, which increases her damage every time 20 stacks of resilience are gained or reduced, so her ultimate quickly builds these stacks. Additionally, with Neuronic 5, all non-ult damage reduces the cooldown of her ult by 0.3 seconds, with no cooldown. This can cut a massive amount of time, as her continuous ramming ticks damage very fast.
With the buffs to Siris adding her detonations giving a 3 second reduction, she can cycle back to her ult much quicker. This does require a thermal weapon, however. After ramming and detonating 3 times, she will gain over 100 stacks (120 if M1), and her cooldown will be reduced to 7 seconds, WITHOUT skill haste. This makes her much much less needed to shoot, as one sub stat of skill haste will essentially reduce her cooldown to 1 second after the rams.
These changes were largely made to kill Discordance’s viability, as the buff requires a thermal weapon, and furthermore inclines Siris to shoot less.
Her signature weapon was buffed to have higher thermal damage, which is fine, but isn’t particularly game changing in any way (More worth it to pull, but not significant enough for a must pull). It should also be noted that Siris is by far the best character against π-Purified (Pi)

Notes:
Enya-Exuvia works well with Siris-Ksana, especially at M3, so she has max stacks, since Siris doesn’t shoot as much as someone like Cherno
Siris’s bursts are definitely powerful, but are a lot weaker than Cherno-Enigma, who does ludicrous damage with her detonations
Siris only needs one singular logistic with skill haste given the buffs, as too much is just wasted on her.
Siris, definitely, uhhh, gained some weight (No more Cute Goldfish)

Yao-Quiet Quitter

image.png
Overview: Yao-Quiet Quitter is an amazing healer. However, past that, she is nothing more. This does not by any circumstances mean Yao is “bad”, but she is not good for neural simulation speedruns as healing (as well as sustaining) is pretty useless.
Yao also has a fairly long support skill cooldown, so if you were to die on that hill, she wouldn’t even be that strong of a supporter with Deep Sea’s Call due to the low uptime of her skill.
She is absolutely amazing for keeping you alive (during slow runs when starting out) if you don't have Eatchel, and is good for general content for the same reason, but is not very beneficial otherwise. Her ult is more healing (Yay i guess?), and her standard skill reloads bullets, which would be nice except it only applies to Yao herself

Notes:
Olympus is a terrible weapon, and is given for free. However, scrapping the weapon for weapon components after leveling to lvl 50 for the weapon part may be worth it
Reiterating that Yao is a great healer, but has no inherent buffs, so is not good in speedruns persay
Yao is significantly worse on PC, and it is simply easier to dodge there, making her heals even less necessary

Lyfe-Infinite Sight

image.png
Overview:
Lyfe-Infinite Sight is a very strong ballistic damage dealer using the new Dual SMGS, that focuses on doing powerful “dodge shots” after shooting the enemy (Or ricochet with neuronics). Additionally, with neuronic 2 (EXTREMELY IMPORTANT), using her standard instantly charges up her dodge shot. When Lyfe does the next dodge and her dodge shot charge is full, she will do damage while dodging, which makes up a significant amount of her damage.
Lyfe’s standard skill marks each enemies’ individual parts, making her even stronger against enemies with multiple parts, and if she attacks the enemy with her dodge roll while the marks are active, she deals damage based on the number of insight marks, which deals skill damage for each mark when her dodge shot hits. This allows her to completely mow down enemies, especially with multiple parts.
Her ultimate is pretty useless, however, and is only good for mobbing, and should not be used in Neural Simulation (Unless you are using her with Tess to get buffs, and if so, then her ult should be immediately cancelled after the buff). Her Deiwos is decently strong, so it may be recommended to unlock all her neuronics for the power boost.
With the two bosses released with Lyfe, Katya-Frostcap and Woden-Demiurge, Lyfe is by far the best choice, as both these enemies have massive kinetic weaknesses, thus making her the best option by far

Notes:
Currently, Lyfe-Infinite Sight (Lyfe-IS) is the strongest ballistic DPS, better than both Yao-Winter Solstice and Katya
Lyfe-IS is extremely powerful, similar (arguably better) to Siris-Ksana, but Cherno-Enigma is so ridiculously good that she still comes out of top
Lyfe’s signature weapon (T1) provides a 25% damage boost compared to the event weapon (T5), which makes her signature 5* weapon pretty strong, but not a must pull
Given Lyfe is a ballistic DPS, she pairs well with Mauxir-Shadow Ka, and additionally, similar to Chenxing-Ethereal Cloud, she can additionally put her standard skill’s mark on Mauxir’s dummy, as it is considered a separate “part of the enemy”
Ideal Lyfe Logistics are two with Attack+Index, and one with Attack+Haste
