When a FAANG employee leaves California to work remote from another state they still required to pay taxes on the portion of their RSU vests that can be attributed to the time you were working in California. This is a very simple calculator that will help visualize the impact. Right now it is very very basic and only tuned for Facebook’s quarterly vesting schedule.
