No visual element does a better job at presenting the brand than the products themselves. Because of this, extra care must be taken when handling compositions with product photos.
Illustration and Borders
When placing botanical illustrations in a layout with a product photo, make sure to use only the botanicals found in the featured product’s ingredient list. This is to avoid confusion regarding the product’s contents or flavor. The corresponding border color must also be used for each product variant (see Borders for the assigned border color per variant).
If the ARC logo can be seen on the bottle label, there is no need to add a brand signature to the layout. If the product photo is absent, a brand signature must always be included in the composition. Without a product photo, the border color should always default to Archipelago Blue (See Borders for details).
Similarly, in a layout where all product variants are present, all botanical illustrations can be used. The border color should also be set to Archipelago Blue (See Borders for details).
Misuse
Do not place illustrations or graphic elements in front of the product photo.
When placing multiple product photos, all bottles should look like they’re placed on the same surface and should be roughly the same size.
Do not make the product photo too small. The viewer must still be able to read the details in the label.
The product should not be seen upside down unless it’s pouring a drink. In which case, a brand signature must be placed in the layout even if the logo is visible on the label.
