A pitch is a great way to communicate your idea, how it works, why it counts, and who it benefits. And in the process of making it, you will clarify the key elements of your idea and refine how you talk about them.
Build the storyline of your pitch, covering all essential building blocks: problem, solution, business model, credibility, call to action, and highlighting the various aspects of the proposed solution, like, who will be involved in the experiment?; what are the original challenges?; what will be critical to success?
🗝️ STEPS
Capture all possible elements you could cover on problem, solution, business model, credibility and call to action on sticky notes.
Have a group discussion to focus on the key message that you want to get across through the storyboard.
Improvise a mini 1min pitch based on the current version of the pitching canvas.
💯 TIPS
The first thing to do is articulate is the essence of your product, service, or experience.
State the context, the key aspect of your idea, why it is different, and any call to action you are making.
You want your pitch to be clear and unambiguous, so don’t get bogged down in the details.
Sell your idea by sharing how and why it counts.
You should be able to succinctly explain it in less than a minute.
