6AM - 9PM, Nominal Limit - “Just don’t stay all day every day”
Good security.
Bring-Your-Own lock accepted, key- type recommended.
Use of propane heater allowed, as long as the door stays a tiny bit open for ventilation. No electricity available.
Family-Owned, very chill. Can and (apparently do) make acceptations within reasonable limitations. Said we could use their bathroom, possibly even run an extension cord from their back door to our unit should we need electricity in a pinch. Apparently trusted by the county to house scientific research for cattle health or some shit.

idk when they open, website says 24hr access but they closed the door at 10PM when we were there.
No ventilation for soldering, nice to have climate control and indoor access, though. Have to go up the stairs to get ‘cheaper’ rates.

Can’t seem to answer the door or the phone, clerk was very apprehensive to tell us our idea is okay to do. Said they’d talk to their boss and call back Friday, never did. Not exactly blowing us out of the water with the first impressions.

7AM - 7PM, 2-Hr limit. Guy is pretty chill, so maybe we could get away with more, but idk. Door technically must stay open.
Clean and well-maintained, guy at desk is pretty helpful and very chill. Good security. Used to be family-owned but is now corporation, so the rules are more strict. We get the impression he might be willing to turn a blind eye to us using the unit beyond the 2-hr limit, but it may not be wise to bank on this due to his obligation to report to his bosses. There is also a code to get out, which means the computer can track how long we’ve been there regardless of the guy’s attention span. Being a corporation, they may be liable to kick us out.

Other (Potential) Expenses:

We want to penny-pinch as much as is practically possible at first, to maximize the potential returns of this idea and to keep it from falling flat due to insufficient funds. If it is successful, we may later find it acceptable to invest in creature comforts and practicality updates if it makes us enough money.

Unit Door Lock
R & M recommends key-type, but should we do combo so each of us can access at any time?
2
Desk/Table(s)
We will use plastic table for now, but if this works out, we should probably get something more practical/nice to work on. Possible we can get something decent from the college. Better than the plastic table, but not permanent, still good for the interim.
Online Pre-Built two-person desks ~$200. Everything else too expensive, except for maybe Craigslist. We can possibly try to build our own by buying a nice-enough tabletop material and building the rest with lumber. Advantage of this is customizability, disadvantage may be overall longevity of craftsmanship, lack of portability, and time/money spent building it to acheive sufficient quality to be nice enough to want to work on in the first place.
$220 - 260 ish idk yet
Prebuilts:
$260 | Walmart - Yes
$202, $220 | Wayfair - Yes, 30 days.
$210 | Target - Yes, 90 days.
3
Chairs
We may need good chairs to start with, so we don’t mess up our posture working.
Craigslist ads, especially in the Bay Area. Might be something we can fit in the car. Possibly the college may have some extras we can have/buy.
4
Shelving
Costco
$90.00
5
Lighting
Lamps:
2 already acquired, 1 bulb & 1 LED (total 23W) for $14 at Goodwill. If we decide to use them, maybe reimburse. Good for general lighting, point at macro tasks or at the ceiling to reflect ambient light.
Ambient:
LED xmas lights given to us for free. Aesthetic only.
Close/Task:
Perhaps 2 sets of LED light bars like from the light box, we can mount them on blocks w/ Velcro to focus the light on our work surface.

Battery
720Wh EcoFlow River Pro
$380, to be paid-in-four via PayPal
eBay Certified Refurbished, 30 day free returns.
Bought & tested, will work well.
