Says BOT still flashes/fails to boot, points to apparent flaw in soldering as issue and asks if we can help resolve. We’ve offered to replace at unit cost, then if it fixes problem, that means he damaged the original in installation, but we can give benefit of doubt and refund for replacement. If it doesn’t work, he’ll return one or both and we can refund accordingly if they test functional.
He decided he’d rather not deal with it and wants to leave things they are. Told him if he changes his mind to let us know, and we’ll honor the offer.

I contacted you around three weeks ago or so, and since then have gotten out my faulty SD card 2DS and reminded myself what the problem is. This first appeared when I attempted a transfer, but seems to be in play with multiple different SD cards: the system thinks the SD card is in Write Protect mode even when it is not. This is the case with a few different SD cards, both full sized and micro in adapters. Looking on various online information sources, this seems to be happening because something in the SD slot is either very dirty or slightly bent such that something is not contacting properly.

1. Does the device power on and boot normally? If not, what happens when you try to turn it on? Pay attention to any screen flashes (top or bottom), LED indicators, bootup error codes, and/or speaker static output.

2. If the device fails to read games, are any of the connector pins within the affected port(s) bent or missing? If not, does cleaning the pins by carefully yet rapidly inserting and removing a game cartridge or small fold of fine-grit sandpaper (dabbed with a touch of rubbing alcohol if necessary, allowing for full evaporation before power-on) solve the issue?

3. If you’re having issues with touch sensitivity or accuracy, are you able to fully complete the digitizer calibration process within the system settings, and if so, does this fix the issue? If the digitizer fails to register touch at all, does carefully removing the colored plastic bezel (NOT the transparent layer beneath it) and cleaning out any lodged debris solve the problem?

4. Is the data stored on your device(s) such as photos, notes, and/or digital game copies accessible, and is it important to you that it is retained and/or recovered if possible? If so, creating a backup of important files prior to sending the device in for repair will be prudent where possible.
