Technical Requirements

Participation with a Computer

If you have a computer (desktop or laptop), you can use it for the podcast recording. The computer should be relatively new (no older than 4-5 years) and have enough power to record the interview with audio and video. Your equipment should meet the following requirements:
PC or Mac with the latest operating system version
Latest version of (Note: other browsers like Firefox, Safari, or Edge will not work)
Check your internet stability. Ethernet connection is preferred over Wi-Fi.
Webcam with a minimum resolution of 720p
External microphone (if you have a high-quality microphone to connect to your computer, that is ideal) and headphones or
Headset with built-in microphone and headphones (to avoid feedback)

Participation with a Smartphone

If you don't have a computer with the required specifications, you can also use a newer smartphone for the interview. It's best to use a tripod to keep your phone stable and at eye level. You can easily download the app for your respective operating system. Here are the requirements:

Additional Requirements

Place yourself in a quiet environment without any distracting background noise or other distractions.
Make sure that the room doesn't echo too much. If you can't change the location, you can try to absorb the sound with hanging blankets or pillows.
Use headphones to avoid feedback and echoes as much as possible.
Close all unnecessary applications during the recording session, including email, chat, etc. This will prevent overloading the CPU. Important: Please close all programs that try to access your microphone/camera.
Close or pause all background processes and applications that upload or download a lot of data in the background, such as Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox.
Turn off notifications for new messages, emails, etc. If you're not using your mobile device to record, put it in airplane mode.

Virtual Studio

Once you've joined the virtual studio, your screen will look something like this:
If necessary, you can adjust your settings under Settings. If you hear an echo, you can turn on Echo Cancellation. You can turn your camera and microphone on and off with the buttons in the lower control panel. Your podcast host will take care of everything else, start the recording, pause it if necessary, and end the recording when it's done. You'll see a countdown from 5 when the recording starts.
Video and audio will be recorded locally on your device. After the recording is finished, the data will automatically upload. If you have a slow internet connection, this may take some time. Once the upload is complete, you'll see this message.

You can then click on Leave to exit Riverside.

After the Interview

After the interview (intro, outro, editing, show notes, and transcription) is complete, I'll let you know the release date. It would be great if we could promote the podcast episode together in our networks (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, etc.) and our own channels (website, blog, newsletter).
