About

I started Wastevine to facilitate the use of excess and used resources in design, architecture, construction and fabrication. Ultimately the aim is to form interdisciplinary communities that will connect to share, innovate, create and exchange resources, both physical and digital. Initally these will be architectural design schools and their local workshops and labs.

An environmentally conscious design community

The wastevine network could extend to many different kinds of makers both in cities and rural areas, in physical and digital space. Such networks can help to build ecosystem services both locally and globally, and facilitate collaboration on socio-ecological projects around the world.

Inter art-science-craft network

Sometimes the solution to a design problem lies in another craft or field. Wastevine will encourage makers to look to other crafts and fields to find resources, and develop new materials and making techniques for reuse and biodesign

Towards biodesign

Further evolution could involve the set up of open labs for material innovation and biodesign using waste from various industries.
This would create a hands on, collaborative environment for research and experimentiation.

I look forward to seeing you on board!
